In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Two thumbs up !!!!!!

You CAN'T go wrong with Don Hamper.

I have known Don for 8 years ++. First as a buyer, then a employee and now a VERY good friend. I still work his table at the Columbus Show and some out of state shows.

Not only do I see his collection on a fairly regular basis, but for 2 years actually maintained it. Don is a old timer and has been breeding rare Pythons, Boas, Turtles, Lizards and Geckos since the 60's.

He has been the first to breed many species in the private sector and a nice guy to boot. I can say without a doubt that I wouldnt be where Im at without his influence. Be it breeding, contacts, investment collection or business ethics.

He does shows about every weekend, works full time, the phone rings off the hook and caring for his herps. He may be hard to reach at times, so just remember his schedule. Its best to call him instead of email. HE HATES EMAILS !! Im sure youll be pleased with your purchase.

Don has been around almost as long as there have been reptiles on the planet. ;)

I think he was the first one to successfully breed the Brontosaurus....

Like everyone said, he is a great guy, with beautiful animals!! Very friendly, and answers any questions you have.

Don is a great guy

I guess at this point to reiterate, Don is a great guy. He sells quality animals and conducts business very professionally. Don has been around since before I started in this business in the late 1980's and has not missed a beat. He still has a great selection and great quality. Do not fear buying from him, especially turtles.

I think all of the above posts more than cover the topic requested, but I have to add my two cents because of the person titled.

I have had the pleasure of knowing Don Hamper since 1990. He is a wonderful person and has worked with reptiles longer than I have been on this planet. He is one of the major reasons that I am as involved with herps today as I am. Few people are more giving of their time and as nice to to customers as Don.

Like Joe mentioned, he is a super busy guy but will still never short change a customer on his time. If you really want to hear some good stories, buy him a beer and sit back.

Rich, you were mistaken. It was stegasaurus.

Never bought animals from Don but Ive spoke with him numerous times at the Columbus OH reptile show, hes very helpful, knowledgable, polite and attentive. For the numerous years Ive been attending that show I have NEVER seen a overpriced or questionable animal. Cant say as Ive ever heard anything about him either.....

Don Hamper

I have known Don for almost 40 years. He is the best in the business!!!! He is the most honest dealer/breeder in the reptile business. If others were like him, there would be no reason for a board of inquiry. He sets a standard which few can duplicate or follow. He keeps his word and does not try scams which some dealers resort to, if he says it is so--you can take him at his word,....He is also a good friend. Earl Turner :D

Good guy

Just to add to all the nice replies...I have bought snakes from Don H. in the past... (a ball python in 95, a ringed python & brazilian rainbow boa this past year)... I have never had any problems with his animals. I don't know him personally but bought from him at various herp shows and all things went well. jason carl

Don's animals are amazing!

I've bought womas and a few other things from Dennis Mountain that came from Don. It would've taken me years to cherry pick and find such nice specimens.

I know I am alittle late here but

Don Hamper is one of the best in the business. I know him personally, and when I think of Reptiles and Breeders he is the guy I think of first!

I would not think twice about buying anything from him. His animals are A+ and he is a great person to deal with. If you are thinking of getting something on his site.... Just get it you will be 100% happy!

Sorry!

Forgot to add name

Gary Orner

uh oh...

i heard hamper was arrested in that big reptile bust in the midwest! is there any validity to this?
James

Well I don't know about arrested...I don't think they actually took anyone to jail..but he did get into a little run around with them, something about wood turtles..I don't want to get into his buisness, just to let you know it was nothing really bad, he is a great guy, I think they gave a lot of people the run around about something or another, and a lot had to do with tortiose, which Don happens to have a lot of them, so they had to nit pick something..

As far as I know, NO. I do not even think he was sited for anything. He just runs the Columbus show so I bet the rumors are out there.

But No I do not believe anything happened to Mr Hamper. Just give him a call tomorrow. If he is on the phone just leave a message he always gets back to me when I call. and usually in about 20 minutes.
