Well... after just pulling a dud egg out of one of my blizzards tubs, the third so far this season from various ladies, I got to wondering if the geckos can tell if an egg is a dud and just abort it to concentrate its bodies energies on producing a viable egg?
I only asl cause all of these geckos have laid clutchs prior to laying one dud, and one of them has gone on to lay a prefect clutch a little later, and, in the first two cases, a single viable egg was laid around a week or so after finding a dud. The other striking element is that in all three cases the dud egg was laid OUTSIDE of the laying box....
Any opinions on this?
