• Responding to email notices you receive.

In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I used to be able to edit my own posts; but now when I try I am unable to do so. I cannot edit my posts in my own threads (one's started by me) - or ones started by others. HELP.......

Rich,

You do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:
You do not have permission to access the page that you were trying to. Are you trying to edit someone else's post or trying to access administrative features? Check that you are allowed to perform this action in the Forum Rules.
If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.

That is what I got when I tried to edit my latest post under General Business Discussions in the thread "Using The BOI". Now go figure, when I hit the edit button for my initial thread on this current post here in "Help" it went right to the edit screen!
Best regards,
Glenn B

I have had the same problem. I was unable to edit a post I made in the Corn Snake Discussion Forum. I got the same message, and I was definitely logged in. I was able to edit a message in a different forum, though.

Apparently the posting permissions got altered somewhere along the line when I changed the structure and layout of the forums. I'll take a look at it some time, but not this weekend, since I have no desire to do this on my laptop across a modem while I am sitting in my motel room during the Mid Atlantic Show.

Not all forums will be enabled for user edits, however, so bear that in mind. There is a lot to be said for taking the time to reflect and proof read the messages that you type in BEFORE clicking the SUBMIT button.

No hurry. Just was wondering what was going on.

True enough. Sometimes you just don't catch all your typos in time, though. Least ways I don't; can't speak for anyone else. :)

It is always easier to proofread something by someone else as you already expect what you think you see there to be what is actually there. Does that make sense??????????????

No hurry.

Good luck at the show. I wanted to drive down but a 4 to 4.5 hour trip each way was a bit much when I don't have the money to buy any herps right now! Oh well next time maybe.

I think I have this all straightened out now. Take a look and if you find something that is not consistent, please let me know.

Thanks.
