In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

my geckos eggs hae been visible for almost 2 months now. i feel them when i pick her up and i see them clearly. what do i do? she deosnt seem to want to lay them. she feed very well after breeding. and now eats a couple mealworms per feeding. she's still fat but i dont know what to do t try to get her to lay these eggs. any suggestions?

How much did she weigh before she was bred? Also egg binding is very serious, If you suspect it I would take her to a qualified reptile vet and have her checked out, its potentially fatal. Are there only two eggs or is there a bunch building up inside her, all the cases I have seen have been a bunch of eggs. Also do you have a moist lay box for her? If not get a deli cup and put some moist moss in there for her, that could be the problem if she doesn't have a proper place to lay her eggs.

I had a female who was eggbound at one point...you could try letting her soak in warm water (about chest deep when she is standing on all fours), and then rubbing her belly very gently in circles or downward (towards her vent). It worked for my girl....but it doesn't work for all of them...many require surgery to save their lives.

shes almost 2 years old and weighed in at 80 grams before she bred. i only see 2 eggs, one on each side. when she bends her torso to the right or left i can see the shape of the egg. i have one of her hides with some peat moss and she eats every once in a while but remains nice and fat. i just finished soaking her and massaging her belly a bit.

It may also be fat bodies and not eggs at all.... Usually gravid females do not feed at all.... I say take here to a vet for a check up to see exactly what is going on....

All of my gravid females continue to eat. I've never seen a fat gecko look like it had eggs in its belly...but I dunno... Anyway I would continue to try soaking and rubbing her belly for about 5 days or so and if you don't get any results, then take her to the vet. It took my girl about 3 or 4 days to lay soaking and rubbing her belly once or twice a day...and then she just laid the eggs in my hand (the rubbing stimulated contractions....the day before she laid she had a couple of very strong contractions while I was rubbing....the following day she also had the very strong contractions which were able to get the eggs out).

here is a pic i took tonight after i soaked her and massaged her a bit. i will try to get belly pics tom. also, how should i rub her belly?

here she is soaking. you could def. see the shape of one of the eggs here. i dont see any cluttering of eggs. only one on each side. im keeping my fingers crossed that she passes these, fertile or not.

i just had a problem with one of my proven breeders only dropping one eggand was able to learn a few things from Marcia.

if she is eating then you prob dont need to worry yet. i dont recall how long an egg can take to form but you may have seen first the egg follicles then the eggs so they may not be overdue at all. rubbing was not one of the recomendations and neither were the warm soaks.

i was very worried at first but Marcia was able to put my fears aside after talking with her. and my leo laid two normal eggs later on (one slightly larger).

she looks ready to pop. just wait it out, unless she stops eating. no sense in overhandling a gravid leo. good luck.

i feel better, lol. i spotted white masses in her stomach about 2 months ago. she bred on the 17th and 18th of march. she doesnt eat reguarly since gravid. i tried feeding her about 2 days ago and she ate 1 mealworm and ignored the rest. before that i would try to feel her but she doesnt seem interested. thanks for the input.

I have found if they dont have a proper place to lay they will not attempt to lay, maybe you should make her a nice little nest and see if she takes to it better?? Just an Idea??

moss is fine, i use coco fiber. it may be more comforatble for her if her lay box has a top, so its more private and safe looking for eggs. really i feel she'd lay on anything as long as it is moist. an old freind of mine had one lay right on the paper towel cuz he wasnt expectint eggs and gave her no lay box.
