In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Some egg shots over the years. Not your typical pretty, nice egg shots, but it shows some of the good and bad variety.

Picture 1: Green Eggs and Ham, cool enough colors to make it into some art photo book.

Picture 2: Any guesses what is going on?

Picture 3: Egg runts

Picture 4: Holy cow they survived

I guess, I have always been too excited to take pictures. Something to think about next time though.

I was cleaning up old photo files and realized over the years there were enough to make the post. I'm of the school of thought that it is okay, even beneficial for people to see both the good and bad so that when it happens to them they don't have to get too worked up or worried thinking, "is it only me?"

Most definitely, it is a good thing to know what could possibly happen. It's not always going to work out in the end. You never can tell how a pairing will work out, until you try it. I have had eggs hatch that I never thought would make it.

Yes Robert people need to know the problems that might occur in this hobby. Problem is too many people are scared to post negative things up based on how it might reflect upon them as a breeder.

Yep, good point Jason, never give up on them!

I agree Mark, and this is a flawed way of thinking in my opinion. At some point, someone else was willing to share with me in the past and helped me through it. In fact those folks that helped me are all from Fauna. I could show a 100 pictures of pearly white eggs, but then we might not learn as much from each other.

FYI:

Picture 1: Egg was obviously dead - it was my first clutch ever, I didn't realize it at the time OR rather hoped I could save it. It was dead, lesson learned!

Picture 2: Is picture number 1 minus the dead egg. I had left the dead egg on there too long and it was affecting the other 2 eggs. So all the white paste looking stuff on the egg is from me spraying athletes foot spray on the eggs to try to kill the mold. It worked and both babies made it! A trick someone from Fauna taught me.

How about "wearing" your egg shell?
Got a good laugh from your pictures Clark, never seen that one before!

So FYI to you, a mod or others...
I was able to see your pictures on my cell phone, but now that I am on my PC I can't see your pictures, hum??

There has been many cases where if someone didnt share with me the negative side of things then i would have screwed up also. These people were people i have talked to before and all the pics and discussion were through PM. I think people should be more open and honest especially for the new guys that come in. Not only could we all find a reason to why something happened but educate people on the do nots of this industry. Some of greatest problems in life have been solved through discussion not by secret. Dont be scared! Be open! People will respect that more...
