    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Well, there's an upside to today! I've got my first clutch! Wow, did it come fast. Here I am talking to Ryan, thinking I had another week, and Rio is done laying. Being the preoccupied dope/pregnant lady that I am, I didn't have the hovabator set up yet. :dunce: :bandhead0 :blush: I just KNEW a few days ago that I should get it running. Hopefully it'll stabilize soon.

Here's mommy - looking relieved and a bit deflated!

And the eggs...they were stuck to the side of the hide, thank god for flexible sides. Now they're just stuck to each other. Here's hoping they're both fertile! I think they look pretty good.

I've got one coming from Lost soon. Tigerlily has one coming as well (I think), but it's hard to tell with her being in shed. Woohoo for getting one step closer to being a breeder. :dancer01:

Congrats! I bet you wish your baby would "hatch" as fast as these will.

Yep, I sure do! But, my baby won't be too far behind.

I'm going to incubate 83 - 84, and hopefully get a mix. The problem I have right now is, I have 2 different digital thermometers running, and there is a 3 degree difference between them! LOL, I guess I could stick a good ol' bulb thermometer in there in see what that says as well. Thankfully, it seems to have stabilized pretty well, I'll be moving the eggs in soon. I just want to be sure I'm not going to get anymore spikes.

That's strange you're getting such different reads on the themometers. Do you have a mercury one in there? What kind of thermostat do you use?

I just stuck a mercury in there (about an hour ago), it's reading what the more expensive thermometer is reading, so I'm going by that. That one also has a min/max readout which is nice. Right now I've got it running on the wafer...it's not quite as stable as I would like, but it's not bad. When I can, I'll switch to a proportional (probably Herpstat).

I am new to incubating also and wasn't aware you could use the wafer because it could get too hot. Hopefully you won't have any problems. I just got a Helix DBS-1000 last weekend. It's awesome and I recommend it. I got mine from Casey at Nature's Spirit Reptiles for $140 shipped. He was a pleasure dealing with by the way. Oh and the green numbers on the Helix's readout are so cool!

LOL, I bought a Helix, and it's busted. I have a Herpstat running my racks and it's fantastic. I've got the newer model of Hovabator, and know a few people that have run it without an outside thermostat. I wouldn't trust it forever, but for now it'll do. The temps I'm getting are stable enough that I don't think I'll have any problems. (I have heard the older models aren't trustworthy)
