    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Enclosures by design........Long!

When two people are married, everything is 50/50 (at least it should be).... Sal isn't into computers.... Alison was.... therefore SHE did all the computer work for Sal's company and her own company, as well.... most anyone in business (even if they are the sole owner) will use the words, "we" or "us" when talking about their company....

Rob, I'm going to use you as an example (please do NOT take this personally).... your business name is "RK Reptiles", which stands for Rob AND Kim.... in every post you've ever written, you have never said the word "we", when talking about the business.... you always say, "I" imported, or, the way "I" do business.... that doesn't mean that Kim is not a part of that business??.... She's an integral part.... She probably does a LOT for you behind the scenes, and I know she does a lot for you at shows.... it's the same with Alison doing a LOT of things for SAL'S business on the computer, and she uses the words, "we" and "us", because she's married to the man and they shared everything.... there is nothing wrong with either scenario....

How many of you have a car, or some other property in someone else's name because you might not have the best credit, or you're trying to hide those assets from others??.... And that last statement applies to ME, too.... "TampaSnakePit.com" is in my father's name, but it is still MY business ONLY.... he owns the corporation that the business name is under, but, I would still never say that he owns the place??.... ON PAPER, he does, but that's it.... same with Alison and Sal.... ON PAPER Alison is affiliated with "Upstate Exotics", but she doesn't own it in the real sense.... especially now that she has left....

That's all I'm trying to say.... They are two separate entities that did things for each other because of their marriage....

I'm done with this thread.... I've tried to explain my reasonings for saying what I did, because they are true.... Alison never had any say in the way Sal's business was run, as Sal never had any say in the way Alison designed her websites.... they just helped each other out as Rob and Kim do.... which is the way a marriage is supposed to work....

I would (and DO) recommend Alison's, "Moonlit Media" as one of the BEST website design companies out there.... SHE will NEVER burn you for ANY reason.... THAT you can take to the bank!

Now you guys can pick this apart to your heart's content, but, it won't change the facts!

As a defender here and I will admit I side with Stardust concerning Upstate. I can tell you that what Neil has said is true Alison left Sal. Given the fact that almost all business were in both names and that as can be the case in divorces or seperations just possible that one party is trying to screw over the other..... dont know that is the case just mentioning possibilities.(this coming from a guy whose first wife closed a joint checking account and didnt bother to tell me until a week later via court papers)

Since the original post and in each subsequent posts the only communication from Enclosures/Upstate has been from Sal I would say its safe to assume Alison isnt involved with this deal in any way shape or form.

I do know Sal has had other problems (if your wife leaving you isnt bad enough)which is why he was selling, but those would be up to Sal to reveal if he so desires.

Now then with all that being said. I believe Sal may be a nice guy I even can believe he has nice animals, what I do know is Sal is a lousy business man. And has been mentioned here to the nth degree you can have the nicest product in the world but if you customer service sucks your still a smuck.

The fact remains the same Alison IS responsible for the business and Sal's actions in conducting that business. Just like your Father. If someone were to sue the business he would be named in the law suit since he is the owner of the business on paper. With my business all license and accounts are in mine and the business name. My wife Kim is not on any of the accounts or licenses and can not even write checks for the business. Just as with our personal finances we are separate. Yes we live together, are married we both pay for our bills and file taxes separately. When I left my full time job to do this full time we split everything to cover us both and our personal assets. Yes she helps me a great deal at shows this is obvious at every show she is at but that is basically the ends of her involvement. She helps with cleaning cages every so often (but not on a regular basis). I am responsible for the care of the animals, the feeding of the animals, and all other aspects of the business. Also as someone already posted moonlit media is whom the payments from the web sites go to. She is the one receiving the payments, it is more than likely going into her account or their joint account and that is just another example of how responsible she is for Sal, His actions, and the actions affiliated with all of the Business's (Upstate exotics,Enclosuresbydesign, snaketrade.com, herpads.net, and any other of their shell companies.

And to Michael Heald (DragonDad) the person that started this thread paid for the enclosure she ordered through paypal. This payment went to Moonlit Media so yes she is responsible for this payment even if she left Sal. If she wanted to get herself off the paypal account and have the e-mail payments go to him that only takes a few seconds.

I'm not trying to get into a flame war with you Neil, but the actual "facts" are contained in the numerous threads about Sal and Alison. Those threads are fact because of Alison's immense participation. If anyone cares to read them, like many of us have, you will see what the facts are because they are coming out of her own mouth. Virtually everytime Alison tried to defend herself and Sal......even more damage was done!

Let's not confuse the "facts" with your opinion or what you would like us to believe!

I dont disagree with you, and Alison has received advice concerning protecting herself here(even without knowing situations like this were taking place).

From a legal standpoint she is involved based on liability. From the viewpoint of practical everyday hands on involvement, she no longer is part of Upstate or Enclosures.(this maybe why Sal has a new name) Since a partnership and any business legally stops when the partnership is disolved. I can believe that they are on their own NOW.

The bottom line of this is all this talk about them doesnt help with the original poster getting her cages or her money back.

Somehow it doesn't surprise me to see Neil "Step right up folks" Gubitz defending people with an amazingly poor track record when it comes to customer service issues involving a problem.

I didn't mean to start a war and have people arguing over who is right and who is wrong. I just wanted to let everyone know that Enclosures by design has yet caused another problem....


I have spoken with Sal via phone and he made some "promises". I asked that those same promises be written to me in email and he did so (Which I have kept).

He says he will have the cages out to me no later than Friday of this week and he will pay the extra to have them shipped 3 day instead of standard ground shipping. I made sure to ask him that no COD charges would be on them and he assured me he would cover all the extra costs of upgrading the shipping from his end.

He did ask me to "back off" on the paypal claim and I said I would. I will not however "back off" on the claim until AFTER I get my cages here and they have been inspected for damage and missing pieces. I believe waiting to check the cages before contacting paypal again is only fair and within my rights as the consumer.
 
Alsion's hands are as dirty as Sal's. They've both demonsatrated themselves time and again to be less than honest. Need we bring up Alison's frequent lies regarding Anthony Pappalardo?

As for Alsion having little to nothing to do with the reptile business, here's a quoe from Alison herself in one of the many threads regarding Upstate's habit of misrepresenting and poorly packaging animals...

That's right, Seamus.... I stick up for my friends!.... That, in no way says that I condone the things Sal's done, and he's been berated by me so many times over the last few months than you could ever imagine!.... Who would EVER want to be YOUR friend??.... The second something bad happened, you'd be leaving skid marks getting away from them.... NOBODY likes fair-weather friends!.... That statement of yours tells me more about YOU than it ever will about me....

I have to agree with Neil.
I have been in contact with Alison, in fact one of the first people to know she was leaving. I am not going to go into all the details of their lives or the way they set the businesses up because it is no ones business but theirs. I will say Alison has said on a lot of threads that moonlit media is SEPERATE from designs and upstate. Alison did in fact leave Sal mid December, which makes her out of the picture concerning this transaction. She was not there. I do not see her getting into reptiles in the near or maybe at all future. That was Sal's thing.
I am NOT condoning what Sal did. I am not condoning all that happened in the past. What I am on here saying is that Alison, in this transaction had NOTHING to do with it.
Perhaps without Alison even in the picture in this transaction and Sal still doing the same old thing, perhaps this may give an indication of who ruled the home.
Either way, I have said in IMs I would not stop any barring of paypal until I have the cages in my hands or my money back.

I think in the case of the past Alison was a point person for the enterprises, she would do her best to convey what she was told by Sal and to fend off the wolves. Is she liable maybe in a legal standpoint yes is she 'involved' with this transaction no!!!

If you honestly think that Moonlit and the other companies are totally separate than maybe you should go to Enclosuresbydesign.com and click on any of the pay buttons and you will see they are together. All payments made to enclosuresbydesign and upstateexotics are actually made to Moonlit media. So that shows again that they are not separate business's and we all know Alison is the one that does the websites so she is the one that set up the paypal to do that and not Sal. They have both dug their own graves and now they both need to lie in them together.

One of the things about going through a divorce is that you always have that baggage to carry with you. Sad, but true.

Alison may not like the fact that Sal is her big-ol-rusty steamer chest to drag around, but I imagine she'll be handling that baggage (and everything that comes with it) for a while yet. If she is truly a victim of circumstance (which I highly doubt, by the way!), I hope she can use this opportunity in her professional life to get herself straightened out.

Love the picture of the trunk going through my head. Anyway we all can sit and go on about her involvement or innocence as the case may be. If nothing else we should be able to see who handles themselves in the most professional manner now.

Some people can give lessons to pit bulls about sinking their teeth in and not letting go.....
 
Yes Rob, I fully understand the situation and what is going on, and have talked with her about this. I understand she is responsible as well. I am trying to be her friend through all of this and help her out.
The only thing I am saying is that she did not handle any of this transaction. She still has to make changes in codes and passwords ect. She left with basically her dogs and clothes.
She has a road in front of her, and that includes sorting through all the mess a married life can entwine.
I am only saying she did not know about this transaction, whether it be on her paypal or not. I am going to inform her of it tonight.
 
Upstate & enclosures by design ...

the websites seem to be gone .... maybe allison has got wind and put a axe to the websites ... now wouldnt that be to pleasant ?
 
Well I just checked and both sites are still up and running like normal. Maybe your connection did not load them or something but as of now Alison has not pulled the sites nor changed them.

i see there back up , i checked from two different computers and they were gone .. ohh well wishful thinking i guess lol
