    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Exotic Pets--bad experience!

I just ordered 3 baby tokays through Exotic Pets earlier this week. I gave them my address. They were shipped out Thursday for a friday delivery. The reason I chose that is because I all day during the week except Fridays I figured, I can be here to accept the package.


They wrote my zip wrong. instead of 45036 they put 45306. I get a call from fedex friday morning saying they fixed it but the package was in transit. I was on the line with fedex all day yesterday and the package somehow wound up in Indianapolis. I cant go there and pick it up--i tried. it's just a facililty where packages are dropped off and then picked up and thats' it.

So now I wont get the package till monday. the geckos if not dead by this point will be by then. I dont see how fedex messed up--this is clearly Exotic Pet's fault for writing my zip wrong. I told the person over the phone my address and zip and they said it back to me again to confirm and said "45036" both times for my zip.

what recourse do I have here? Fedex said when I get the package to open it immediately and if the geckos are dead to refuse the package.
 
I dont think I can edit my posts, so I re-read my original and have to clarify some points:

Fedex realized the zip code error friday morning--when the package was supposed to arrive. I guess once the truck couldnt find my street address for the zip 45306 they figured something was wrong. At this point I tried to just pick up the package myself but it was already "in transit" to be re routed to my address.

Fedex said friday there was a chance I could get in saturday--if not, then Monday definitely. I told them numerous times that the package has live animals and they wont survive till then, not in this weather. I know the packages are in some sort of shipping facility but it cant be that warm inside.

I also emailed Exotic Pets about this once I got the initial call from Fedex. I got no response. I tried called later in the day and got a hold of someone and they didnt even know I emailed them--I told them I did and my signal from my cell got cut. I figured I would now get a response to my email but still no response. I guess I will have to wait until Monday to resolve this. I am not happy about this. I have been having animals shipped to me for years and this has never happened.
