Im looking to rehome my 3 year old black and white tegu named Smaug to a experienced reptile keeper who understands the needs of large lizards.
Smaug is semi-tame, he can be skitish, especially on the ground, but once picked up he tends to mellow out. He is food aggressive and has bitten before, so hes not suitable for beginners or homes with young children. His current set up is a grow tent with coco mulch, logs, a water dish, and a 150W heat source. I often allow him to free roam my room under supervision. He eats a varied diet of whole prey, lagre insects like hissing roaches, and leafy greens/fruit. He is fed twice a week, though can go longer between meals when necessary. Im happy to include his current enclousure and supplies for an additonal cost or negotiate a package deal.
If interested, please be ready to answer some questions about your experience, enclousure, and plans for his care. Smaug deserves a safe, permanent home.
