In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    Addendum: 01/10/2026
    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

All shipped the same day.
2 boxes arrived - 3 didn't and still show "left Fed Ex".
Don't they keep these things together when they are all one shipment?

Just got off the phone.

Fed Ex had extra space on one truck so they split up my order and delivered 2 boxes a day early. 2 of the other boxes will come tomorrow and the last one is due Saturday.

One order delivered over 3 days. What a waste of gas. If the order is there, why break it up and risk losing a part of it and just deliver the entire order at once?

Absolutely not. A box is a box is a box is a box. All they care about is what their scanner tells them. That aint just Fed-Ex, that is everyone in the shipping industry. From the post office to Fed-Ex/UPS to motor freight. Its all about the scanner and bar code.

As long as they don't lose the little box that is supposed to come Saturday. That one has the hardware and wiring in it. The other 4 boxes are no good without that one.

Check this out, from the bottom up. Arrived at Kalamazoo Mi. went to Calif. back to N.J. then back to Calif. I am glad my customer was understanding, 2 weeks to deliver??

I just had several boxes sent to me through fedex. One of the days, 2 boxes were supposed to arrive the next day, 1 showed on time, other got lost and re-routed for a day later. If you punched the main tracking number into fedex, both are under it. So no excuses for wrong address and what not when one made it. Shrap is right though, it's not just fedex, its everyone. None have a flawless sheet... or close to one. I've been screwed by every company.

I dont know how many of you are familiar with the inner workings of a major hub, but each shift is literally 4 to 5 hours of designed chaos.

At the UPS 81st street hub here in Indy we used to move 300,000 packages on average in a 4-1/2 hour shift. That is literally unloading semis and delivery vehicles at one end of the facility, sorting them and reloading them in different trucks at the other end of the building. Packages are flying folks.

In between they are scanned and sorted. They are scanned to show they have arrived at the Indy hub, next a sorter will sort the packages onto different conveyor belts based on the first three digits of the zip code. A sorter is literally sorting a package a second. A good sorter is anyway. As long as 99% the Next Day got properly sorted and 94% of of everything else got properly sorted management was happy.

The packages go from the sorter down a conveyor to the folks who load the packages back up on different semi-trailers and delivery trucks based again on the first three digits of the zip code. As the folks load the truck the packages get scanned again to show they are exiting the 81st street hub.

Keep in mind this is roughly 125 people doing it. 300,000 packages unloaded, arrival scan, sorted, exit scan and loaded up again in 4-1/2 hours, by 125 people. It is truly designed chaos inside these hubs folks. We used to joke all the time that it was a miracle that anything ever made it on time.

That is just crazy!
Chaos is an understatement.
No wonder fragile means nothing. LOL.
Talk about working hard to earn a paycheck. Sounds like you would be exhausted after a shift.

You were actually still pretty juiced most days when the shift was over. Its pretty much impossible to get yourself mentally/physically hyped to do the job and then just shut it back off instantly. The bar a couple blocks up the road always had at least 10 UPS employees in it pretty much every hour it was open. Immediately after a shift ended there could be as many as 50 or 60.
