    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    Addendum: 01/10/2026
    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

ok, for those of you that have heard about my rack you know how the heat tape is hotter on the left side of the rack than the right. After much tinkering i now have the right/cooler side at 86.5-87.5 depending on room temp on every shelf, and the hot side always at 89.7 (it never changes) on every shelf. are both of these temps ok!? i've done everything to make them closer and more stable but this is the best i can do! maybe i'll just have to ditch the right side of my rack.... :toiletcla :>poke2<: when will it end!

I keep my leos between about 88 and 91, it is set at 90 but does flutuate a tad and recorded temps have been a low of 88.7 to a high of 90.5. I don't have a real rack, I have the sterlite drawers and used 1 foot piece of 11" heat tape for each drawer in the unit on the left side only so they have the half heat half room temp. Sounds like your temps are fine.

whew, thanks guys. i didn't know how low a basking spot could be. at least i don't need to do anything more to it :p

Shouldn't the cooler side be... Umm, Cooler??? LOL! It doesn't sound like you have too much of a heat gradient in there. I'm no expert, but, it sounds like the temps are so close to eachother that from one end to the other end of your "Box" it doesn't change in temop to much. What if your Gecko wanted to get a little cooler? OH, I see It CAN'T cuz the temp is only 2 degrees cooler... & Is that the same temp ALL DAY & NIGHT? That is a good temp for the Daytime on the HOT side. But I think you should try to get the cooler side cooler. Or at least try to drop the temp at night.

no, no, it isn't the cool end of the bins he's talking about. The bins have a gradient: hot in the back, cool in the front. The weird thing goin on with Tyler's rack is that the back (hot) temp is different on the right side than on the left. When he said "cooler side" he meant the weirdly cooler back half of the rack that should be the exact same temp. i.e., haunted.

yea, its the basking spots that are cooler on the left than the right. all bins have a gradient but the basking temp changes.
