• Responding to email notices you receive.
    **************************************************
In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

  • IMPORTANT! PLEASE READ!! About the Google Adsense ads being displayed

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    Addendum: 01/10/2026
    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Finally! A starting point for great things to come on Fauna!

I, for one am pleased at the impending changes and applaud Webslave for finally tking the plunge. I am sure there will be quite a bit of drama over this in the comming days, but Im sure that as soon as the fees are implemented this too will subside.

Keep up the good work Rich!

I agree all the way, too many people take their priveleges for granted, let's cut down on the B.S. and stick to the facts. As a newer member of this site, I often find myself reluctant to respond to posts because of all the drama and soap opera involved. More power to you Rich.

Well thanks for the moral support. This is nerve wracking, to be sure.

I just emailed the announcement to all registered members here around 3:30 am this morning (last night) and am still in the process of getting all the bounced emails downloaded from my server. I think it's going to be some ridiculous number..... I suspect there will be some hate mail scattered among them as well.

They tell me that this too will pass.......

We'll see, I guess.....

You think the Soap Opera drama is bad now. Just wait until even more of a pecking order is established with all the different power levels available directly related to how much money is paid. OH the Drama!

I'm with you Ron,
Sometimes I just sit back and read. Then I wonder how some people can carry on so long! Seems like a lot of wasted energy to me.
Go WebSlave, we could all use some shaking up from time to time! Heck, if I had any excitement, I wouldn't know what to do with it!

their will be a yearly fee for posting or viewing or both?

The yearly fee is for POSTING only. Viewing is free to all members.

Ok, so if I get ripped off,

in order to inform the viewing public, I would have to pay a $ 10.00 yearly fee to notify everyone about the problem I encountered. Anyone responding would already have paid the fee in order to respond to my post. Then one can assume that it would not pay to advertise a "good guy post" if you just want to let people know that you were very satisfied with a transaction on a "one time basis" because that would cost you $ 10.00. Although people would be allowed to see the thread, they just would not be allowed to add on. Interesting policy.
