    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Finally! An ovulation!!

Finally after two and a half years of breeding and no results, my adult female spider finally ovulates! (hopefully it's a true ovy -_-'). I thought for sure something was wrong with her or the male, but he bred with the others and they produced eggs. Now, I see this as I open up the cage today. So Happy!! Has anyone else had problems with their females not going for a while?

congrats. The females will go when they are ready. Its just like I have had females breed at less than two years, and some not breed at 5. Unfortunately you just have to keep trying sometimes, as frustrating as it is.

Thanks. Yea I was almost going to give up on her, but then I was like woah! Lol It's strange to me how females will go when they want to. It's like they pick their own times to breed which is interesting to me. Anyways, thank you for the response!

I bought a CH yearling female in 2008...she laid her first clutch in 2013. She made up for it by giving us two Super Chocolates. I also had a YB male that didn't breed until he was well over two years old. Some of them take longer than others. Congrats on the ovy:)

Wow thats crazy. Yea I guess every female is different. My youngest male which is a vanilla yb is 1 yr 4 months weighing at 350 or so grams has been breeding this year and now my fire yb female is gravid. Insane right? Thanks and congrats on the two super chocolates! :)

Congrats! Was her tail pretty sucked in looking? It's hard to tell from that pic but usually they swell up wider. Either way if she hasn't she's definitely about to!
