I bred a male 06' Fire to a Dinker (reduced pattern) female. I got a rather interesting result. The Fire was said to have thrown to differant types of offspring. Some were high orange and others were typical. I shot some pics today after everyone had thier first shed. Ended up with 2 very differant looking Fire males, and 2 very differant Fire females with 1.2 normals.
This is where the story gets interesting. I was on vacation when the eggs were hatching, so I had a good friend over daily to deal with my rats, snakes and hatchlings. It was 6 healthy eggs, that were rather large. They started hatching the Monday after I left and on Friday he called me freaking out. He said "How many snakes were there?" I replied that there were 6 eggs. He swore that he had lost a snake, but still had 6. I came home and 2 days later 1 escaped, I found him and placed him back in. 3 days later another escaped right after shedding, a search insued and a snake was found and placed back in the bin. 2 days later it shed and I was thoroughly confused. Well 5 days after that my wife wakes me at 4:30 screaming a snake is loose and on the stove, I came down and grabbed it and proceeded to scold the snake for my loss of sleep and it's persistance to escape. I went to place it in drawer 1 but it's not empty, so I try drawer 2,3,4,5, and 6 and they are all full. There had been a twin, one escaped before I came home and was later found as the double shedding snake. So 7 snakes now accounted for and a set of twins that was a suprise to me.
