In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I've waited four years for this moment! Five perfect eggs from my black pastel piebald. I bred her to a black pastel pinstripe het pied. Hopefully some fun combos are cooking in there!

She does not look amused with me taking a quick pic. Going with maternal incubation.

Thanks!

I wussed out on maternal incubation. I was having trouble keeping the temp just right (even though before the eggs I wasn't having any trouble with it!!). So I moved them to an incubator.

Hopefully everything will work out okay. I'm going to be stressed until they hatch, and then shed, and then eat, and then live for 20-30 years. Heehee.

Four of them have great viens. The fifth one is smaller than the rest and the veins are only so-so.

Fingers, toes, everything crossed!

Well good luck! I have no ball incubation experience, but I've read and heard that artificial incubation is better anyway. More consistent temp and easier on mama too! N now she can rest and build her minerals back up.

So mom is pied and dad is het pied? I wonder how many pied babies you will get.

And I wanted to clarify, I didn't mean better like maternal incubation is bad. I meant like it's easier on mom and you, or so I've read. Just wanted to make sure that didn't sound snotty because you would know way better than I would anyway :)

Momma must be hungry!

When it comes to maternal vs incubator I think you get people on both sides!

Momma is Black Pastel Piebald and dady is a black pastel pinstripe het pied. So I could have five pieds or no pieds! I really hope to at least get one pied.

Well one egg is no good. No viens and it looks yellowish inside when candled. I don't know if it died or if it was never fertile.

Of the other four, three look great, nice strong viens. The fourth has really strong viens but the egg is collapsed somewhat in the middle.

Incubating a clutch has never been this stress full! 50 days to go....

;)

Mom is gorgeous! Post pics as soon as the babies hatch, I bet you will get some amazing babies!
