In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Freaking out.

Im really strating to freak out now about my leo. She doesnt like to eat. Ill buy her crickets, and shell eat about two in three days. When I got her, she looked so healthy. Now I regret getting her from a pet store cause I knew what I was getting into and the high risk of her getting sick.I started her on mealworms about two weeks ago and she barely eats those either. Her tail is soooo skinny. What do I do? Is it time to take her to the vets? :shrug01:

A vet visit is in order but you'll need to get a fresh fecal too, which can be hard if she's not eating. Try Marcia's slurry to get some food in her to get a fecal.

G3 Slurry: Slurry to help stimulating the feeding response of Non-eating Geckos
By: Marcia McGuiness www.goldengategeckos.com

In a blender, combine:
1 small can Hill's A/D pet food (available at most vets)
1/4-1/3 cup Ensure (not chocolate)
1 jar baby food squash
1/4-1/3 cup Pedialite
2 crushed tablets or contents of 2 capsules Milk Thistle (herbal supplement, liver purifier, found at most drug stores.)
1/2 tsp. each calcium powder and herp vitamin powder
1 large handful of mealworms, added slowly while mixture is blending
Puree all ingredients until completely smooth, and pour into ice cube tray(s) and freeze. Store cubes in zip-lock bag in the freezer until ready to use, then thaw out 1 cube at a time and store in fridge for 2-3 days. I use the empty baby food jar for this purpose, washing it thoroughly after each batch.

*Lately, I have been adding about 1 Tblsp. T-Rex Gargoyle MRP to each new thawed out cube.

Using this mixture, draw a full dropper (1 ml. eye dropper type) and place a drop on the gecko's nose. It will start to lick it off, and as it does, slowly squeeze out a little at a time. Most geckos love this food, and will lap it up. Patience is the key here.

**NOTE: Do NOT tell anyone in your household you put mealworms in the blender!

Ill try to sneak the blender so nobody sees me use it which is hard since I have 7 other people living with me. About the feces, she is having bowel movements, they are a tiny bit loose though.

You can still use the slurry to help her while she's not eating. But get a fresh moist fecals sample to the vet asap.

Samantha, if you gecko is producing feces, then she is eating. When geckos become anorexic and/or lose weight, it is an indication that something potentially serious may be going on that needs veterinary intervention.

I would like to comment about my slurry. It was designed to provide nutrition for non-eating geckos, and help produce a stool for veterinary examination. It is not medicine, and it will not cure anything.

I hope you get your gecko to a vet ASAP...

I just made a vet appointment. Im so glad my school let me call. I have to say they are awesome :)..... Hopefully shell be alright. :(

If you find a fresh sample within the 24 hours before the vet appointment, place it in a zip lock bag and put it in the fridge, this will keep it fresh.
