    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I responded to an ad Mr. Alford was running on the internet for an adult Female Star Tortoise. I have sent him 2 emails during the past week and still have yet to hear from him.
Does anyone have any info or alternate way to get in touch with him?

Thanks in advance!

I too e-mailed him about his female star tortoise and also received replies that were days apart instead of quick replies.  I informed him that I would have bought the star from him but his lack of communication leaves to much risk for me.  It gives you a bad feeling you know.  He did apoligize for the slow replies and understood my reasoning.  I also posted a BOI on him and got no replies a month or so ago when I had e-mailed him about the tortoise.  Wisj I could give you more info but I did not receive any replies on my BOI.  When your buying on the internet communication skills are worth a lot!!!!!!

Perhaps one of the internet skills you need to brush up on is following the rules of this forum.  It specifically states that you MUST use your real FULL NAME when making positive or negative comments about someone on the BOI.

Toby, Thanks for the reply!
He contacted me several days ago about the animal and said it was still available. He then said he would supply pictures the next night. I told him that I had a friend who lived close by that would pick it up for me and that must have scared him off because I haven't heard back.
Two of my friends experienced the same thing. He answered their initial emails but when they said they were going to arrange pickup he never contacted them again.
I guess a breeder size female Star for $1000.00 is too good to be true huh?

Sounds like your getting the right vibes from him as I did.

By the way, the last name police got me again.  (See my above post)

My name is Toby Adrianse.

Fred sent me a pic of the Star in question.  The pic was from the back of the carapace, so the entire front of the animal including the head were hidden.  I thought this was an interesting angle.  Also I noticed at least one extra scute on the animal.  After seeing the pic, I lost interest.
