    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I recently was visiting a good friend whcih adopted a pretty large iguana. He knew I was into these type of reptiles and overloaded me with questions. I only have experience in beardies and chameleons, so I didnt have much info for him. Can someone help me out??? LOL

Heres some questions that would help him out........

1) How can you determine male or female?

2) Is there anyway to train him to be less aggresive?

3) What is the best lighting schedule for an iguana this time of year?

1) Lobe size on their cheeks, if they are extremely huge it is a male. Also the top of their heads, if you see a mound of tissue that looks like their brain, it is a male. Also on their legs, males have large femoral pores

2) lots of patience!!! I have one I can only hand feed, actually it is now the only way she wants to eat :rolleyes: . Move slowly around them, and be patient. Some only like females, some only like male humans. I keep the girl I have in a cage and do not bother with handling. She is really pretty, lets me scratch her face, and it is less stress on the two of us if I do not bother with trying to hold her. She was never handled by previous owners and she is an adult, so I have no reason to do so now..

3) Same as what is outside, make sure UVB light is used, as these reptile do need it.

Hope this helps some, if their are any other Q's just ask.
