    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I've noticed that all three of my Leos have developed habits that are both amusing and a bit frustrating. I thought I'd share my geckos habits, and hopefully you can share yours. :)

My Chinacat loves to dig. She loves to dig so much she'll dig all the substrate out of her humid hide, and dig all the calcium out of her dish. I have to clean her enclosure a lot, and she won't let me clean and leave her in the enclosure. When I clean, I have to pick her up and let her sit on my shoulder. I think that's why she makes the huge messes in her enclosure, just so she can get more shoulder time. :rolleyes:

I moved my girls into 10 gallon tanks with a repti-hammock up in a corner, and branches to climb up to the hammock. Both girls have decided that their hammocks make the perfect bathroom. While this makes cleaning their poo a breeze, it's the first thing you see when you look in their tanks! :ack2:

Even my little guy has developed an icky bathroom habit. Egnima likes to go right next to the waterdish. I tried moving the dish, and Egnima still goes right next to the dish. That's not sanitary. Gonna try changing the water dish to see if that will discourage the little guy from going right next to it.

I hate to break it to you, but your leo is a reptile and does not need your company nor does it enjoy it..... They run mostly on an instinctive drive and some very limited primitive thought.... They lack the parts of the brain that control emotion..... So your leo will never get mad at you if you keep it in its cage during cleaning and it will never love you or your company.....

These are not habits... Its more like natural behavior in a captive environment....

ahh y u gotta burst my bubble for?

just kidding, i feel the same way but kinda thought maybe one of mine that i let chill most of the time as he was growing got used to hanging on my collar, while laying sideways on my bed he would sometimes climb up my arm and settle in on my neck. not that he likes to hang with me but recognizes the spot as safe.

maybe i make a decent sofa, i dunno.

I'm just curious but isn't fear an emotion? If they lack parts that control emotion, then if they get scared why would they drop their tails?

Nope.... "Fear" is not what makes them drop their tail.... Dropping their tail is part of their survival mechanism..... The instinct to survive is not an emotion and neither is a tail drop....

I know everyone loves their geckos.... I love mine too, but I also know that they are incapable of feeling or giving love....
