In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Gen-X-reptiles

ANYONE HEARD

Anyone heard or seen or done biz with Chris at Gen-X ?

Last I heard Chris was going to buy a snake off me, said thanks for the pics, told me on the phone he would be sending money... that was the last I head of that!

Just wondering if he is still around or anyone has had anything to do with him.

Seems to of vanished!

From the couple of pages I've read so far, I can agree that he refuses to type - I suspected he wanted no proof as well. But, because of a low dollar value on the adult frilled dragon he had for sale, I figured to give it a shot. she is pictured below with my male. He had no further contact with "her". Not only is she NOT and adult, I don't think she is even a SHE. "She" seems to have very large femoral pores for a female. Unless I am mistaken and the females are more "manly" than the males in this species. anyway, I was disappointed in my purchase. I even emailed him to let him know that he did not send me an adult. It seems to be WC and thinner than I expected.
AS I am new to Frillies, please let me know what you think after seeing the pics. You may email me if you prefer.

I am new - please inform me - is this an adult female? A healthy adult female?

Laura I think you owe Gen-X an even greater apology as you bought those animals for resale http://market.kingsnake.com/detail.php?cat=34&de=199242

I noticed that ad myself and was rather surprised at her doing that. Not only is she asking a rather high price (in my opinion) for them, its dishonest that she is willing to sell the stuff that she doesn't think was good enough for her. You make them sound a lot better in your "for sale" ad than you did when you came here. Basically passing on to other buyers what she doesn't want....thats not cool.

posting feedback

i have been keeping reptiles for a while, but have only been doing business over the net for the last 6 months or so. anyway, may sound like a stupid question, but how do you post feedback on someone anyway, i have a couple i would like to give a positive remark to.

thanks

i totally agree, i dont know this gen x reptiles but i agree she needs to appologize and also be more informed on the animals she claims to be keeping or breeding or attempting to breed... projects ect.

not su[rising at all... she does it on the leogecko classifieds, gecko classifieds and boa classifieds as well. shoot one of her ads lately she was selling some animals she had not even recieved yet.... it's a pattern with her. then when called out she bloames it on family medical emergencies and whatnopt but yet in the ad she will be taking trades for this and that.... i dont know anything of gen x but if i was you guys i would stay way clear of laura v of starlight specialities ....... and if she is brokering i don't mind that its her busniess but be honest about it dont try and say your funding a project or lookiing for prohect animals to breed...
blah i have had my fill with this woman

i know she sent poor animals to a young man in houston and i know of several breeders both gecko and boa she has pulled this crap with... just really does a tap dance on my nerves... shoot the other things i could day but i shall kindly decline

The only thing I have heard thru the grapevine is he is a young guy whom has favor with and purchases from a Los Angeles based importer ran by a woman.

Interesting, but without proof it's nothing more then hearsay. And not worth paying attention to.

Don't want to sound mean, but people will tell you, without proof it's just hearsay!

I HAVE A RELIABLE SOURCE JUST CAN'T SAY WHOM

IF HE VANISHED WHY WASTE OUR TIME WITH THE THREAD ON THIS GUY, NOBODY CAN DEAL WITH SOMEBODY WHOM HAS BEEN VANQUISHED FROM THE KINGDOM, CAN THEY??

IF HE VANISHED WHY WASTE OUR TIME WITH THE THREAD ON THIS GUY, NOBODY CAN DEAL WITH SOMEBODY WHOM HAS BEEN VANQUISHED FROM THE KINGDOM, CAN THEY??

No one said he's been vanquished, but he does pop up every now then which means info or updated info is not a waste of time.

If (not sure if you have) read through this thread, but there are a lot of unanswered questions that were presented to Chris, but have never been answered.

Hmmm..this is all very interesting...

I seem to recall apologizing to Chris... albeit briefly. My apologies for not extending it.

Quote - If she is an adult, then I sincerely apologize to GenX. Though, truly I am not used to seeing animals so thin unless they are rescues or WC. Perhaps frillies are different than other lizards and run bony. My male, however doesn't fit into that mold...He is a cow.

I had one person look at her and tell me she was a "he", I thought so too based on the larger pores, as in this she resembles my male bearded dragons.

I had another tell me after viewing the pics that it is a female. So, I will accept the verdict of female and said if that was the case, I sincerely apologize to Chris...and I do...

As far as the brokering aspect, I did not buy them for resale...I bought them to breed. But, I did so before getting all the info I could on them. It was a case of heart running away with the head. They require as breeders being housed together much more space than my reptile room will allow at this time. I gave a $350 trade for the male frillie - I did not think I overcharged. The female is putting on weight and is fatter than when I purchased her, she still has the stubborn nose rub, but is in much better shape.

As far as my breeder Leos that I'm letting go, true I did not produce most myself of the breeder age animals myself, but I've had most a long time and have gotten eggs from them, but have since decided to go onto other projects.

When I paid off the current pair of UG geckos from Craig that I have, I told him that I am focusing on other projects now and would have to turn around and sell at least one of them. Keep in mind, I sold her for half what I paid for her...I sold her for $350 and Paid $675 - does this sound like good brokering practice? Every Leo I have posted recently I am losing big on. But, I wanted to sell them quickly to give me the funds I need for my boa project.

I sold a lot of babies I produced last season - that is how I prefer to sell, but since I am focusing on other project, I want to bring my Leos down to a number I can easily handle. Apparently no one here has EVER sold an animal they did not produce...amazing. No one has ever decided to focus on other things besides Leos...astounding..

I do not understand all these verbal slams...from Robin I've come to expect them...I don't know who she is, but I must have wronged her in another life...

But, if you have any questions please don't hesitate to come to the source. I love to talk and I am more than willing to discuss anything.

I tried to contact a [email protected]...whom I believe to be Chris, but the email I sent him was returned undeliverable. Here is what it read:
> I had her evaluated when I first got her and was told she was a young he...no biggie really, as I didn't spend much on her (Whereas I spent about $350 or so for the male) - then I had someone else look at the pics I took - she thinks it's a female. So, 2 against 1 and female wins out.) I sincerely apologize for thinking that she might be a male. She still has that stubborn nose rub though...guess she prefers what's outside of tank to what's within.) She has put on weight though and is looking much better. I think frillies are the neatest! But, no matter how I rearrange my reptile room, there is just no room for the size of breeding cage they would need. I had not known just what I would be getting into with them. But, hopefully they will find a good home with someone who has the room and experience with frillies.

Ok, in case someone didn't catch it the first few times...(apparently some did not the first time) Chris - I do so humbly apologize for taking the first opinion of the frillie being a boy. I now understand that she is a she and I am sorry for any upset this might have caused.

On a side note, the male/female issue was only a small portion of my disappointment. All I said previously is that I was disappointed she was not an adult (as she is not 9" stv, she is not an adult yet) and that she was so thin. What is wrong with that? Both were true and obvious. I was not angry and did not say angry, hurtful things. I also did not post her as an adult...I posted her as a sub adult, as that is what I believe her to be.

If you believe I have done something wrong here, please email me and make me aware of it. Or post it here (I was told of this thread or would not even know it existed)...but, as I don't often come here, I may not see what you have written, so then can not ponder the error of my ways. I will truly consider that which you tell me.

Sorry for the long post -

Best wishes to all.

just my opinions based on your dealings with others.. i know several bao and leo breeders whom you have done this same thing too. its not something thats happens once or twice... i think your morals are off a bit...
sending sick and thin geckos, tailess your eyeless gecxko project
i mean you may seem like the inocent but something is seriously wrong with you and your morals... laura i know alot more than what you think... so dont play it off as poor me or a mistake or whatever

eyeless geckos?

You do have me stumped there... Oh, I see, the geckos with an eyelid deformities...Yes, I will openly admit to wanting to find a male with that fault and breed them to see if it is a genetic fault or a temp spike in the incubator...what is wrong with trying to find this out? If it is a temp spike, all is well, if it is genetic, then the babies and adults would have found free pet homes.
I see no problem with this - this is concern over a gecko line. I did not produce the animals with the deformed eyelids, (I purchased them) and I have never produced such to date, but before breeding them to a normal gecko, I wanted to be sure the problem was not genetic. I do not want to breed a gecko with a genetic problem. To this day they have not been bred, nor have I sold them.
This does not give me substandard morals. How many people breed siblings of offspring to parents to bring out a trait. How many kink tailed animals have been bred? How many one eyed albinos have been produced due to inbreeding?
How many white boxer puppies have been killed for being white?
The list goes on and on.
All I sought to do was prove/disprove a theory. I am not trying to create deformed monsters with a gut sack on the outside of the body. My gecko can still see, still function, still live a normal, happy life with no hardship at all.
IF the geckos in question proved to be a carrier of this defect then I would have notified the breeder I got them from so that he can choose whether to keep breeding this line or not. I myself would not breed them if it proved genetic.

tailless

Also, I do not have a tail-less project of any kind. I do not know anyone who has not sold a gecko with a re-grown tail at one time of another.
I did have one customer who emailed me pics of a Leo that lost her tail during shipping (I'm sure UPS palyed football with the package), I offered a full refund if he shipped her back or a partial for the loss of the tail. He went with the partial refund.
And, as stated before I did not sell sick and dying geckos to Peridisio - he was just a frantic, parinoid young man getting into Leos for the first time. Perhaps I should not have given him (free - as we never did get back together to do the work on my site he was going to do) hatchlings... but, I was not willing to give him adults worth humdreds for him to post a couple of pics for me.
I posted pics of them on the Leopard Gecko forum onthe other site just prior to them leaving me - they are normal, healthy leos...he, himself, said the other leos he saw of mine were fat and healthy looking, indeed the pic he posted of them showed normal looking hatchlings. I think he just thought that a hatchling should look like a juvie or an adult. He just over worried...but seems quite happy with them now that he realises they are ok.
If I have an animal that I deem problimatic at all, I will sell them at a reduced price (with problems noted) or give them away/donate them. I do not feel this is a bad practice...I feel it is an honest one. Most of the problems I've had center around them receiving too much heat. (Not all leos react badly to this) but, it is a reason that I am cutting back on the numberor beardies that I have.
I will never be able to do or say anything to raise myself in your eyes Robin, nor do I feel I should have to.
That is the great thing about this country - we are all allowed our opinions and no one can take that away from us.
Just make sure to gather as much info as possible before forming it.
Now, I need to get back to work.

Because

someday I hope to find a male to breed them to.

If not, then they will remain with me or be given away to someone who just wants a pet.

I have had no eye infections or any problem from the two.

But, I could not see putting them down unless they had no qualty of life, which so far is not the case.

It is beginning ot look like I will not find such a male. So, I will consider giving them to a friend of mine's kids.

I guess it is better off to assume that eyelash kinks are genetic, since apparently I will be unable to provide facts otherwise. This is actually unfortunate because that would put offlimits many animals that do not show the symptom just because they may carry the gene. I truly thought I was doing the leo community a service. Why breed animals we know are bad? If this trait had been proven genetic - we could stop the breeding of the animals that produced it. So long as some believe it to be caused by a temp flux while baking, they will keep breeding these animals. i just wanted to know one way or another for fact.

Thank you for your concern...they will be removed and given away.
