    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Got A Suprise!

My fiance got off work yesterday and came to my work to tell me he was going home right? Well when I went home....I went into our bedroom and by my side of the bed he set up a glass terrarium with a new Beardie baby in it! Its a Florida Orange. beautiful Little guy! Named him Drako from the Dragonheart movie. He is really skittish though of course (thats a baby for you though) He is really big for his age too. He was supposed to be my birthday present but it came alittle early! WHICH IS AWESOME! We now have four dragons but the sad thing is my BD Louise is getting to her older years and Im not sure how long she is going to last. My fiance said thats why He got my Drako. I dont want Louise to die cause I have had her for a long time and she is soooo great. I dont think I could take losing her. Has any of you guys ever lost a loved dragon? :bawling:

We have dragons up to age 9 years and just lost our first adult one a few month ago. It is very sad as they become such a part of your life. Hopefully when others lose a beloved pet, it can be as easy going as Zooki was. We knew he was having small strokes at times for the past year, but he usually recoved in a few days time and still had a good quality of life most days.

He had one and did not recover like usual, we were watching him closely as I did not want him to suffer. We tucked his favorite blue blanket around him, he grunted (he did that often to acknowledge something he liked) and within 2 hours, he just closed his eyes and stop breathing. No stress colors or struggle, just quietly passed away. The same way he lived with us, appreciating the little things and not a bother about anything, A very remarkable dragon. He was thought to be the largest dragon in captivity, at 25 inches and 1048 grams. These girls are over 600 grams and still dwarfed by him, he was a big gentle giant.

I cant believe how big he is. Louise is only 22" long from nose to tip of tail. She is right at 600 grams and still growing strong. I just hate to think that she wont be with me forever. I feel bad giving Drako attention and then not giving her attention, but then I feel bad not giving Drako attention and giving Louise attention. Sometimes I believe Louise likes not getting attention cause I have noticed she likes to lounge about her cage more than usual, but when its feeding time its a totally different story! lol :)

That really is a good size for a dragon now days, so many of them are getting smaller and smaller with each generation. We have two others that are 24 inches and some that are 22 inches also, but many of them are 19-21. Most that we see being sold the past few years to others end up being under 18 inches now.

Many breeders feel this is due to inbreeding form such a small gene pool and compromised immune systems/ digestive systems, not being able to process the foods and absorb the nutrients as well or fight off bacteria and parasite, which effects their growth.

Our Red/GoldxSandfire male is 18" but has a massive head on him and is just now starting to gain weight and muscle, he basically was a rescue case because this kid lost interest and didnt care for him, when we got him he had tapeworm, no muscle in his toes, nothing but bones, and he just didnt act like a dragon plus he was kept in a 20 gal tank his whole life ( he was 2 when we got him, we have had him for almost 5 months now) he is in a 125 gallon with my german giant female( Louise) who was over bred to the point where she has no nails and I got her for free since the people who saved her before me are friends.( they are seperated in the tank though) but yea When we plan to breed next year we want to take the best care possible to get the healthiest babies.

EEE! DragonHeart is one of my most favorite movies...so sad at the end though ,poor Draco.:(

Anyways... >.>
Congrats on your new beardie! :D

LOL yea its a good movie, was going to name him SPITFIRE from a skateboard company, or SPYRO from that playstation game but my fiance thought that was gay, so we both decided on DRACO. I like it. He named his ARIES..????LOL
