    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Need advice if there is any to give please. Below is a graphic picture of a hatchling killer bee I just hatched and as you can notice there is a slit about 1.5 to 2 inches behind its head on its belly. Its heart is sticking out wont sit in its ribs and stay in. It has been out of the egg for two days now and its still hanging in there. I have tried to get it stitched up by a vet but there is no one I can find that will do this the vets I have called wont even attempt. Here is what I have done so far.

I have cleaned the opening with a Iodine solution.

I have placed the hatchling in a sterile container with damp paper towels inside and placed the snake back into the incubator.

I need some advice on what to do next and how to handle. I like to give all my hatchlings a chance and not just write them off. This little guy is hanging in there so I want to do everything I can do to have a successful outcome.

Please help. much advice needed. I will do whatever I need to do to help him out.

Ralph Davis used to have a video where he stitched up a hatchling with what I think I remember was a similar issue. Darned if I can find it now, it's been made private. :/

Wish I could offer some advice, but beyond 'run to the vet', I have no experience.

We havent experienced it but the only real option you have at this point is find a way to put his heart back in and get it stitched up. You are more than capable of doing it just make sure to wash your hands with alcohol and sterilize everything. Not saying it wont be a challenge and a second set of hands would help. Best of luck man. Keep us updated.
 
if you attempt this use proper supplies (perhaps from a pharmacy? im not sure) the wrong material used as stitches could cause further complications...in fact i would try getting my hands on some of the 'suture tape' alot of the docs are using not in place of stitches...its essentially really strong small bands of tape you place similar to stitches pulling the wound shut or perhaps surgical glue...once again im not sure where to acquire these things, vets may have them on hand. gl
 
As far as getting sutures, sometimes farm supply stores have them. I wish I could remember where I read it, but I remember someone with a very similar situation using dental floss as sutures. I will try to find the link.
 
Thank you guys for the support as well as the help. Yesterday I got steri stripes, cleaning solution, gloves, vet wrap and gauze. I was able to clean the wound as well as position everything back in and get it situated in the cavity. I was able to tape it up real good and wrap it.

I have not been over to check on it today so keep your fingers crossed and luck on this little guys side.

My girlfriends mom use to work in the medical supply field and luckily had some gut sutures which will work perfect. I am hoping today I can get him stitched up and back on track to healing and living a normal life.

If anyone has more suggestions or ideas please share. I would really like to see this one pull through because he is hanging in there and not giving up.
 
It is folks like Danny that inspire me in this hobby. Placing value on the life of the animal is something that some folks seem to miss. To them, they see $$$ and that is it. I wish you luck in getting this animal a full recovery! You sir, are awesome.
