Hey there!
My name is Kat, I joined honestly because I'm desperately looking for a specific species of lizard and have been S.O.L.
I'm 25 and I'm sad to say I previously worked in the corporate pet trade, but have since moved on to better and brighter things! So I work full time with a 24/hr Specialty Veterinary Hospital with their Exotics service. (The dr. I work with owns several snakes of her own and we both share a huge herp passion.)
My collection is small currently, with a juvie Ceratophrys cranwelli Pac Man frog and a 2 y/o female Mack Snow Leo. I grew up owning Eastern Newts, various species of frogs and toads, anoles, and had several species of hermit crabs (which I have not continued to keep due to the nature of which they are brought into the pet trade). I also helped raise an Eastern Painted turtle, an eyelash crested and a beardie.
At work we see most species of reptile (non-venomous, only due to the cost of keeping antivenom on hand) as well as all exotic mammals and birds (that can fit through the door, so no emu or cassowaries here) so its always interesting and I've got to see some cool reptiles.
I only have a small herp family because I also have two rabbits, two hedgehogs, hamsters and a chinchilla in my family, so they take up a majority of the room here.
but my 40g is open and I hope to add another fellow to my family!
