    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

GTP - Dam incubation

You can, a number of people have had great success doing that. I was thinking about it with my last clutch but the mom laid em and left em lol.

Yeah, I joined chondroweb and now I figure I'll have an incubator ready, but I'll let the mother brood them if she doesn't drop them or leave them in the nest. I have a while to go, but I'm building an incubator for ball pythons and I wanted to know if I should make it suitable for GTPs, too. Thanks

Randy, I'm looking for a used wine refrigerator (working or not), but if I can't find one for cheap I'll end up building one similar to the Avey Igloo cooler. Either way I'll be using a proportional Herpstat to run heat rope under steal and water jugs. I might even use vegetable oil instead of water as a sink, as I think it would hold a stable temperature better than water. The one I used to use for corns and leos was a cooler style with a window, but I really like the way wine cooler incubators look.

I've always wanted to get one of those small frigerators like you see soda in on the end of the isles in stores the smaller ones not the great big ones.. Always thought they'd make a good Incubator. I built one way back out of a small refrigerator cut the door so I could install plexi and used heat tape to heat it. worked well but left it when I moved last.

The oil idea is a good one , it takes longer to heat and cool than water. Yeah a nice glass door makes a difference, I use an Avery now and a home built out of a cooler. Can't say as I really like the cooler but it works. Randy

That's funny, I was walking around a Wal-mart yesterday looking for pieces for the incubator, and when I saw the small soda cooler, I was llike, "that would be perfect!". But it would be more than I need right now. I hope I can find a wine cooler in the next few months, cause I realy don't want to use a cooler. I thought the oil was a good idea. It would take longer to get calibrated, but I think it would hold a consistant temperature better than water jugs or pans. Especially good for when I open the door. I get credit when vegetable oil is the standard sinc.

I only have a pair of '06 het albino balls that I acquired at this years' Tinley NARBC from Habitat Systems (1.0) and Ian at Outback Reptiles (0.1), so I have some time to build the incubator. I am syked for albinos now though, and I am picking up a few yearling+ normal females in the next 2 days, and saving for an '06 homozygous male I hope to get in the next month to try for hets next year. I may have to sell my yearling Biak type to get him, and I just sold my R/C plane and radio equipment to put toward it. I thought I would be able to be patient with my hets, but I was wrong. Anyone want to buy a Redline BMX?

i was looking for one of them small soda coolers. i even called coke and Pepsi to see if they sell the ones that are not able to be fixed and they both told me they can not sell or give them away if they are to repairable.
