    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Hatchling feeds?

Oh no dont worry JD, I dont need to go to my mommy. Infact there are people on this site that care. Have you noticed? I got Honest and helpful advice on this site, I really dont need you anymore. Sorry.

You got honest and helpful advice from me as well, whether you can see past your misdirected anger or not.

Totally misdirected. Let me go catch it and point it in the right direction then once its there I'll make sure to let you know. Until then let me cuddle with my carebears.

Ok, now that all that is out! :) Have those Babies eaten yet??? If not, I always do Google searches, and I would dig around Fauna. Like go back to the first pages, all the pages in this Forum, and other Snake Forums. I forget if you said you were trying to feed them live, or pre frozen. Do you know what the people before you were feeding them if anything. I always find that out. If it is Pre frozen you could try the washing them off with some mild soap and rinsing them real good trick. I read that this has worked for lots of people. Try offering them different things, and feed them outside of their tank. I have a cardboard box, with a clean towel towel I feed Jakers in. He likes that, when he is done I fold the towel under and he hides there for awhile until we feel comfortable on putting him back. You could wave it in front of his nose to! I had a friend bring over a wild caught Garter Snake to my house, and we tried feeding him the pinkies I have. He didn't want it at first, but once my friend started shaking it around his nose he grabbed it! Then we got him started and he wanted more!! He was hungry. :) Wherever you have him try and make sure his temps are comfortable, not to high, not to low. Maybe put one in the cardboard box and take them outside on a nice day and see if they snag. If none of this works I donno?? You could post your feeding problems on another Snake Forum. If I was you I would be trying everything and anything right now! I don't know what I'd do if it was my Jakers, probably cry! :((

Yes, two of the babies have eaten out of the four. We are almost completed the unit, just have to buy the heating pads and some more water dishes and substrate, make some hide boxes. Other than that we hooked the heating pad back up and went and bought another temostat that keeps the tempeture controlled and plugged that baby up. The warm side is about 93* and the other side is 82-84* . Our little texas long nose didnt eat for 4 months. He just fed for us Monday and we were shocked/surprized/happy all at once. He ate two! I was really hot from being at work and I just put my hand in there, he keened in on my finger and his head was following it. I put the live pinkie in there and poked it, he striked at my finger but missed and bit the pinkie. I thought he was going to let go but he gobbled it up and 5 minutes later at a F/T pinkie. We dont feed any of our snakes in their enclousures except Junior, if you move him or touch him he wont eat so that is our only option. The babies were not eating before we got them, they hadnt eaten anything, they were only a week old when we recieved them. Thanks for your help again Leigh I will keep this updated :)

Kool!~

I am really glad you got the two Babies to eat! Also that your getting really nice homes set up!! I hope you can get those other two goin soon. You should post some pics if possible? I would LOVE to see your Babies! I wish I had a camera, and a good one. I would get the cutest shots of Jakers. Jakers has THE cutest little nose, especially after hes been burrowing, and he has dirt all over that cute little nose! OH SO CUTE!!!!!!!!! Anywayz, sorry. :) Keep us updated! I can't think of any other tips, sorry. :( They might be shedding, or maybe they would eat after a bath or something, I donno?

Yes me too! The second baby ate again today.. she ate the thing backwards, the first also ate. The other two just sat there then tried to get out for about 30 minutes. I will take pictures here in a littel while and post them, I will also take a picture of the unit, we have it all put together just waiting to get the heating pads and what not. They arent shedding, we havent soaked them yet as they seem to huddle in the water dish so that is taken care of. The one we just noticed looks like she had something wrong with her ribs/back. She has a flat spot in her and I dont know, its like when a lizard leans against the glass and gets that kink in his back, something of the sort. I hope that isnt what is keeping her from eating though!

How about a vet visit? It is not normal for ball pythons to soak. They either soak because of mites, an unusually large meal or bad temps. Seems like the husbandry issues might still be there.

Once we get the unit completely finished/set up I'll take her to the vet. Since I wouldnt want to put them in woeful conditions for too long. They dont have mites, she hasnt eaten, the temps are right. They arent completely soaking, they are using the water dish as a device to get them closer to the top so they can escape. Sometimes they hang in it, or have their tails in it. Not Submerged. Of course its the husbandry issue, isnt it always?!

Always? No. From what I've heard, most likely. Whether you like my delivery of the advice or not, the point is, I have some idea of what I'm talking about. I'm always here to help if you can get past that.
