I'm putting together an Iguana cage. I want to know what is available to maintain temps in a melanin enclosure 4(h) x 2(d) x4(w).
Is there a product I can buy that will take the temps and adjust the light and heat accordingly... sounds like too much to ask! Is there such a product though? I want to be assured that when I go to work and school the little guy isn't gonna fry (hopefully the cool side will stay cool enough). I know too much or too little heat can stress or harm the Ig.
I live in Chicago. Will one 160 Watt ZooMed PowerSun bulb and a ceramic fixture be enough for that big of a cage? Does the PowerSun bulb emit enough UVA/B rays that I don't need a flourescent source of light... according to Reptile Depot, I don't? Should I include a conductive heat source for reptiles, like the Exo-terra heat wave rainforest product... it's cold in Chicago?
Any other recommendations for heat and light besides the two that I currently have?
Also, can anyone recommend a good vet in Chicago?
Thanks,
G
