In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I know i posted this already but it seems that ive come up with a way to heat a cage of the size i mentioned 24deep,36 wide and 48 tall. I need to see what you think of it. the cage will be made of plexiglass.

If i purchased a ZOO Repti Temp 500R Thermostat and set the temps to the right temp and took 2 heating pads for a 10 gallon tank and put one of the bottom and one on the wall would that be good enough? or would it be better to put the largest heating pad in with the ZOO Repti Temp 500R Thermostat and put it on the bottom of the cage or on the wall?

Please respond as i am really looking for opinions, thank you.

If you are looking to heat the tank for an arboreal snake, the heat pads will not do as well as would a heat lamp or a ceramic heat emiter or a heat lamp. The ceramic heat emiter or certain red colored bulbs can be used at night. Another thing to consider is a heated perch for the snake. These snakes spend most of their time in the branches of trees , if I understand correctly, and spend little time if any on the bottom of the tank atop a heat pad.

Heat pads attached to the tank will do little to raise the overall ambient temp in the tank and are meant more for contact heat.

It really depends on what species you're looking to work with.....a heat pad will work fine for the semi-arboreal species such as Carpet Pythons, and Amazon Tree Boas......but not so well for the totally arboreal species like Chondros and ETBs......I just use the human heat pads from Wal-Mart. They work great.
