    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I hope I have this in the right forum. I need to know as much as I can about dwarf boas. I am taking in a rescue one today and can't seem to find much useful information. Care sheets would be greatly appreciate. The only thing I have been assured of is he will only get about 6 ft max and he eats prekilled small rats. Thanks

i would treat it as any other locale boa. i have never really heard of 6 foot "dwarf locale" boa. i have heard females get around 4 foot and males 3-3.5 feet. then again, im a retic guy and all this is from what ive read and heard. good luck

Here he is

Well he is no where nippy as I expected! He only lunged once and didn't contact on anyone. He is beautiful and I am so glad I got him. They said he was het for hypo (but I have no idea what that means). So tell me what you think of him

i wouldnt expect him to be a dwarf if there is little background info on what he is...

Where did they get the "Het Hypo" From? I dont know that there are Het Hypos in boas of the common species....(BCI) I think in rainbow boas yes...( Not 100% on that info though after a quick google search) But im pretty sure the other Hypomelanistic genetics in boas are Co-Dom. Someone with a bit more boa genetic knowledge will probably come along to clarify.

i know they are either hypo or not, they cant be het hypo. looks to me to be a nice circle back pattern bci.

I would say Central American as well. It is a broad term but it definately doesn't look like a colombian.

On the other "Het for Hypo" note. One person has claimed to have het for hypo boas. Jeff Gee claims after breeding generation to generation the normals from his F5 litters if bred to each other will produce hypos. I have never seen this actually done or any proof of it. But he is the only one I have seen trying to actually market it. Others just don't know what they are talking about. Looks like a nice little normal Central American BCI(Boa Constrictor Imperator).

yeah, jeff is from my neck of the woods. personally, i do buy it. hypomelanism has been proven time and time again, without a doubt of being a co-dominant gene. co-doms cant be carried, either shown or not. to me it be like me saying i have bred 5 generations of the tiger gene, so believe now, that normals in the 5th generation and beyond are het tigers. just doesnt happen. there are alot of unknowns and variables with genes. however, there are a few definates, to me that is and always will be one.

Thanks for your input, I really appreciate it. The person I got him from said he is 2 y.o and he is just about 2.5 feet long. I have him in a tub but I am making him something where he can climb on later this week. He ate with gusto yesterday, so I haven't handled him today.
