In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I have a 55 gallon glass aquarium and i have it filled with a terrarium,
That houses 2 beautiful forest armadillo lizards

My problem is this...

I have three cats and they think they rule the house and they wont keep there furry @$$es out of the tank, even though i've squirted them, yelled and popped there @$$es multiple times...
i want to get/build a lid for it but i'm at wits end with this..
I can easily go buy a metal mesh lid for it but i hate the way they look.

I have a 4' florescent light fixture on top and a heat lamp the clamps to the side
The fixture hold 2 bulbs and it sits almost perfectly flush with the tank top,

please throw me some ideas...

heres what it looks like, but the picture doesnt have the mini clamp lamp on the right side,

Yeah i thought about that, cutting it just enough to let the heat lamp have some room to sit... Heres my beautiful paintshop job, lol

My only worry about it is about the hole for the heat lamp,
How do i get it to sit properly and will it melt if i cut it to fit the inside lip of the lamp
Or should i cut it larger than the lamp and attach something to it to hold in place securely,
& how would i go about doing these things

i have a 2'' hole saw i can do the air vents with, what about the lamp hole?????

AAARGH!

I am NO EXPERT, but at a guess I'd say cut the hole for the lamp larger than needed and fill with something like silicone and maybe line with tinfoil to reflect heat away from the plexiglass. You can also buy lamp cages designed to keep animals from physically contacting bulbs - maybe you can get one of those and cut the hole to fit the cage so that there is a space between the bulb and the glass - how big are the occupants?

Not very big at all, maybe 4 to 6 inches (Nose to tail)
They are lazy little buggers too, all they do is lay around, but i guess i'd do that too if i had nothing to do. lol
