In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

here is a pic of my rhino

He is a good guy for the most part but does not like any other lizards!
HE paces around acting like a dinosaur!
do all males act out when they reach maturity?

he is a cb o2

He is nearing maturity although he was said to be a cbo2 i think it might have been a o1
I will upload a new pic that one was old.
He is due to go for a walk today so I will snap a pic of him in his harness.

He stays in yard

He does not mind the ducks that come up to him.
I will post a pic after I get home after noon.
you will get to see him showing off to the smaller anoles.
he must think they are bigger since he clearly hates any other lizards.
I hope he does not treat female rinos bad since i will try to breed him soon.
be back after noon :bolt01:

Well shucks. When he said rhino I thought he was professing his love for brucey.

I'm glad there weren't pics of that though.

The lizard is cool looking but don't you think you should know ANYTHING more than almost NOTHING before keeping much less trying to breed, if you REALLY mean putting it with another lizard and not some deed better left unspoken, such a creature?

here is the pic i promised

Wes I will not stand for your abuse for no reason.
I have bred reptiles for over 30 years and will not put up with such abuse web slave has been notified.

back to topic
here is the pics I promised of iggy

That guy is great! I always wanted to get a rino iggy. Do you house him indoors or out? How long have you been walking him on that harness? Do you have a female? Can you sex juvies? point me in the direction of some info , if ya can. great pics.

thanks for the reply

rinos are sexed very simply the males are very different than the females.
most don't want to keep males due to their aggressive nature but with lots of work they can be somewhat tame.
he stays indoors for now but i walk him every other day next year he will stay outside in a new chain link pen.
males have penile bulges near the base of the tail and extend them when they excrete their waste.
but most breeders can sex a baby.
thanks :hehe:

I would buy some right now, but dont want to shell out big bucks for two males or two females. well not right now, but after I read alot about them and talk with some people who keep and breed them.

Here is his baby pic when I got him

He was real tame but had a bad habit of defacating when first picked up that is not uncommon.
He has changed quite a bit and now he chases me around once and a while.
He has never bit me either but he can be a u no what thying to get him in his harness.

Neat lizard. There are a bunch of Rhino Iguana breeders here in the southwest, and it is always fun to go out and see the different setups they have Rube Goldberg'd together...

Still...they taste like chicken.

:) greg

Nice pictures. I bet he would like to get ahold of those ducks. LOL MMmmmmm duck. The guy I work for had a gruop of 1.4 of them. The male was huge. They were all fairly tame and, while I didn't hold them, they would would eat out of my hand and let me scritch their heads. The male was very aggressive w/the females. They were only put together for breeding purposes.

Iggy has a weird personality

Iggy aka stinkasaurus has a odd personality that came on as he matured.
while he tolerates the ducks and stubby the cat.
He will not allow me to keep other lizards near him or he will break into their cage and well kill and eat them all.{He ate several of my spinytails before I Knew who or what was making them go away very sneaky and fast.} :slamit:
And I accept responsibilty for it and it will never happen again. :hehe:
Sometimes he will chase me around and if I turn and face him he will try to
dominate me[by attacking ] as the only thing that controls his life. :eatsmiley
He will head butt my shoe{since I put it out for protection he could nip a finger or body part right off with his super powered jaws.}
Then if I push him back after a couple minutes he will back off till he gets his brass back.
But most of the time he is a nice friendly rhino. :)
But not for a novice at least in my opinion.
A lot of responsibility with these guys.
Females are generaly nicer as a pet.
glad you all like him.
