In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Im just wondering, Lets say a female dragon breeds with a male and she does become gravid...how long would it take or should it take on the normal basis for the eggs to be felt in her? ( IM PLANNING AHEAD BEFORE I BREED MY DRAGONS NEXT YEAR SO I WILLL KNOW NOW INSTEAD OF HAVING TO FIND OUT AT THE LAST MINUTE) And also after the eggs are felt should I go ahead and put her in a nesting box so she can begin digging and laying eggs when its time?

It is usually 3 weeks or so before you can feel the eggs in the female. Many times though, you may not actually feel the eggs. You will however notice an increase in appetite and overall weight gain.
I suggest watching your female very closely once you see these symptoms. Then one morning you'll go to feed her and she'll simply ignore the food. They will also usually start carrying on in the cage and be rather obnoxious with trying to dig and/or escape. THIS is when she will need to be put into a proper egg-laying environment. If you put her in there too soon, she'll just play around and make a mess with the dirt. Try to be patient with her - she'll lay the eggs when it is time.

Good luck.

TAHNX GUYS! :) I hope when we do breed her next year every egg comes out alright. This would be her first clutch so we are taking extra precautions to make sure she gets extra nutrition and care so she will be in good health before and after her laying. I knwo that laying the eggs can take alot out of a female so we ware going to take extra good care of her to make sure she is healthy. Also when should she be given a break from breeding? I was told every other year to not breed her, is this so or how should we go among doing her " breaks"?

As long as they are not on continuous output from start to end of the season, they can be bred every year. I would just go with one or two clutches a year. They are really expensive to maintain as hatchlings, so i wouldn't reccomend breeding her that much.

We was only wanting to get one clutch out of her this year just to see how things go first instead of getting stuck with a bunch of babies who cant find homes. Of course we already have home planned its just that if we breed her twice and the second clutch has just alittle more or atleast to the point where we cant find homes for the rest of the babies we dont want to over crowd if you know what I mean.

Oh also, as for her "breaks" how long in between breeding her from the first time until time to breed her again? (if we do decide to breed her twice in one year) if that sounds confusing heres what I meant in a broken down form: After we breed her the first time and seperate her from the male to lay eggs, how long after do we need to wait in order to breed her again? Im such a confusing person! :) sorry guys!

She could lay more than one clutch off of a single breeding. So do not rely on separation to stop her from laying additional eggs. Usually on a first time breeder you will only get the one or two, but experienced and well nourished females can even lay up to 5 clutches in a season. Start saving now for feeding those babies!!
