In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

How much to Pay

Hello everyone my question is prices what is a Bearded Dragon worth I understand there are many different colors and morphs but what are they worth I see some at 150$ and some at 1,000 to 2,000 but lets say I want a red not a dull orange that I see, but a good female red one to start a collection with what should I pay and I will never pay a 1,000$ for one.

Thanks
Bill

i can attest to the fact that no matter what you spend on the dragon itself, to do it right, you will indeed spend 1000+ on ur first dragon. not to mention time.
as for actuall cost on the first dragon, there are so many variables in genetics that affect price, its hard to put a price tag or even a ballpark on the moving target you just posted....so lets start here. what kind of collection do you want...are you planning on breeding your bearded dragon??

do you want leatherback or non? how saturated a red female do you want? i've been looking for about three months for the right breeder female red, fully saturated, no pattern...depends on how picky you are.

Reputable breeder

Hi Bill,
First important thing when buying online, is buy from a reputable breeder. If you look around enough you'll see pics of beautiful dragons, just email that person and ask, who bred that dragon. If you come up with a breeder you think is good, ask them their guarantee policy. Is the color and health actually represented in the picture. Some may refund, some may not. Your shipping a live animal and it shouldn't be taken lightly and shipped back unless it's a necessity. Also, ask for more than 1 pic and ask whether pics are recent.
Concerning price, if it's cheap, it's probably for a reason, and don't expect top quality for the cheaper beardie. If you want cheaper, find a good breeder and buy it young. Older will be more. Also, summertime prices will go down as market gets flooded.
Last but not least, check the BOI on this site, and do a search to see if there's any complaints on your chosen breeder. If no complaint then inquire to see what others opinions may be of that breeder.

Good luck!

yea i learned the hard way about cheap. if you see somethin that everyone else is pricing at 250 or 350 bucks and its getting sold for a hundred there is absolutely a reason. if the genetics are good, theres only one other possibility...health. i just spent over a month nursing a lil one back to health cause of that, heck she's still havin a tough time getting some meat on her bones. pm me and i'll point you at some good leads at least.
