Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them.     Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Hello everyone,

I bought 5 African Fat Tails when they where small, now I'm not sure how to sex them. I have no problem sexing leopard geckos, but it seams that all AFT have protuberant hemipenal bulges.

Any suggestions other than checking their neck size?

They are all about 50g and I can't wait to start breeding them!!

Sexing fat tails is the same as sexing leos. Only males have hemipenal bulges. Post some pics of them if you need more help.

Female fat tails can have bulges equal to those of the males, so I suggest you look for the pre-anal pores (similar to leos). Those are much more reliable than the "bulge method" when trying to sex the AFT's.
 
I guess they could have bulges, I have just never seen them on any of my females. Paul is right.....the pores are way more reliable.
