• Responding to email notices you receive.
    **************************************************
    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Human to Dragon Illnesses???

Salmonella poisoning is the only thing I can think of. The risk of catching it from a dragon is quite low though, your more prone to catching it from turtles and frogs.

As already mentioned salmonella, humans can also get cryptosporidium (sp?) which is known to infect reptiles sometimes. Probably more, but I don't know off hand. Most all are very low risk. Proper hand washing, and using methods so as not to cause cross contamination, will keep you safe for the most part.

as mentioned before, salmonella and crypto can be transferred, but you can also get the intestinal parasites as well such as pinworms, coccidia, and tapes. The chances however are low. You would need to handle the feces and pretty much either eat it or get it near an open cut or wet membrane for it to occur. Hand washing is always best to reduce this risk. My pediatrician gave me a long lecture on the risks of having reptiles and the transmissions of certain parasites and salmonella when I told him I was considering on owning reptiles again when my daughter was a year and a half old. She's 2 now(as of tomorrow!) and we have not had any problems. I deworm all the guys and she is not allowed to handle any of them(still too young and rough) and I do not handle any of them until my boyfriend gets home in the morning and after she is asleep at night to reduce any chance of transferring anything to her. I also wash my hands a thousand times a day in hot water and antibacterial soap.
