    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Predicted land fall south jersey some where around Cape May-Atlantic City. Monday afternoon/evening.the bridges in or off of the island have been closed and the few of us that decided to not evacuate are hunkered down and hoping for the best.

Predicted sustained winds of around 75 mph with heavy rain that may last for 24 hours. I'm sure electric will be off for an extended period of time. the kicker is an expected 10 foot wall of water coming in from the ocean.

Is that what they're saying now? I keep hearing different things about where it's supposed to hit. Good luck and stay safe!

Doesnt NJ have like a 90% mandatory evac? I know in CT theyre evacuating all the coastal towns and the river (about 300yds from my house) is supposed to rise quite a lot leaving my place at least ankle deep in water.

It's been raining for the majority of the last 18 hours, and the wind's picked up considerably in the last 6 hours. Of course, I couldn't find any stores near me that had any candles left. Can't wait for the obligatory power outage. Being in a very rural area, we're generally not one of the power company's priorities. I forsee some cold, dark nights in my immediate future.

Wishing everyone there the best through it, I hope everything's able to stay warm and dry inside.
Everyone's in our thoughts and prayers, please stay safe!

Been through a lot of hurricanes here at the jersey shore, nothing like this one. we used to wait for a hurricane to surf the couple hours in front of it. this one as pumping out 18-27 foot tall waves that were plowing into and over the dunes over the promenade then crashing into the streets. I sat up on a bit of a hill on Perry st about 80 yards or so away from the Beach drive they were crashing on. all the while the wind was so intense it sounded like a jet over head. the rain that was falling side ways was relentless. I would describe Sandy as catastrophic, unprecedented, unimaginable and certainly one for the books.

I live back off the ocean front and only seen minor flooding here the destruction was mostly on the beach front where the ocean tried to take away the land. my dragons and I stayed warm but it was a bumpy night.

New Jersey from cape may to above new york city was pounded, battered and destroyed by this hurricane. with out a doubt the most destructive and powerful hurricane to hit this state. Sandy was an awesome awesome female dog.
