His look is very different than most hypos I see. I don't know a lot about boa morphs, so I was wondering if some one could help me out? Are a hypo and a salmon the same? Or are they seperate "strains" of hypo, such as Bell and Tremper albinos in leopard geckos? I'm looking for a female, with the intention of breeding for super hypos, I just want to make sure I get the right type. Thanks.

Salmon/Ihle, OT (orange-tail) hypo/gee line hypo, these are all just different names for lines of hypo boas but they all share the same hypo genetics just from different founding lines. The Salmon and OT hypos I believe were thought to be from Panama, so in reality all hypo boas are locality mixes of BCi. There are also central american hypos and possibly pure colombian hypos.

What was that hypo sold as? It is a little different looking, is there any hog isle blood in the mix? He doesn't appear to have much deep red in the tail but looks like a nice flush of color overall.

Good luck!

Thanks for the replies! That is what I thought, that they were all one genetic mutation, from different lines. When I bought the snake, I was told it was a hypo. I asked what locality, and was told that he was probably mixed. I have definatly noticed that his blotches are less red, and even seems less hypo than many. He is a very handsome guy though.
