    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Hey everyone,
Okay I am really thinking about getting a water monitor. One of my concerns is a cage. I am thinking of like (LWH) 12 x 8 x 6. But I am like sucky in carpentry. Did any of you guys have a hard time at first? Also did you guys just go to a hardware store and talk to somebody about what you need?
Thanks so much,
Rob

the cage doesn't have to be fancy, just functional (that includes secure). you may not be able to find your monitor in a cage of that size, though. While the dimensions stated are certainly appropriate for an adult, they would certainly be much more than necessary for even a subadult. In the interest of your long term happiness, unless you have experience with monitors, you should be limiting your consideration to smallish specimens (max of about 30", preferably smaller). My reason for saying that is you will want/need to interact with the monitor, and this is best started while they are small. the more used to handling they are; the fewer scratches, bites, and whacks with the tail you have to take...believe me, that stuff is cute when they are 3ft long, but when a 7fter smacks your leg or goes "upside your head" it's no lauging matter (for the record, it was not MY head that got crashed...and I did laugh about it). Figure out how big the monitor you want will be, then build a scaled down cage...maybe 4x2x3.
