In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I think I want to cry

:bawling:I did it,,i Fked up.I did'nt secure the lid on my big kings tub and she got out.I have search EVERY WHERE.Tonight I believe I found where she ended up.
In the room she was in,there is a small door to a crawl space.I found poop leading under this door.In this space there are all kinds of holes leading into the down stairs walls and ceiling. These walls are close at the basement level,so if a snake was to get into the wall I don't think it could get back out.
I am soo pissed at my self. How stupid !!!!!!!! I am very sad about losing my big girl.If I dont find her, I might sell the male.Take a break from keeping snakes...GD it,sOB !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:(

Before trying to off yourself from remorse I'd suggest setting up a rubbermaid tub with a heat pad and a prey item in it for her in the crawl space in a few days....you never know what you might wake up to in the morning. And she might be able to get back up those walls...they are amazing climbers. (And yes, I've used this to recapture a 3 month old baby burm that was loose in my house fro a week;) )

Good Luck!

She may well turn up at some point....inside or out. Many years ago, I had a rat snake get loose in an upstairs room of my (new construction) house. My gf found him in the yard a few days later. I've also found a baby bullsnake in a pile of old clothes my basement, about 2 months after she escaped from my Vision hatchling rack.

I feel your pain! It happens, it's probably happened to most of us. At times we get lucky and trip over it and other times it's gone for good. From the time I was 13 to today I can't tell you how many snakes I have lost. Some I found and some I never found.

I lost a Garter when I was 13 and after a few days my Stepmom yelled for me. I came out of my room and our cat was running down the hall with it in his mouth. The snake was ok and had no injuries! Few.

Hope you find it.

Sh e is a Cali king, black and white,,a bit over 4'.Very nice specimen.HH sexed her for me not too long ago.It turned out to be a bit tricky,or should I say confusing.Harald takes one look, with his MANY years of experience, and says you have a male. But,when he follows up his guess with a probe,,he looks like SHE.
So my plan was to put her/it with a male in the spring and see what happened.I don't no if I'm going to get a chance now. This SUCKS !!!.
AND,,I am moving into my apartment this weekend(long story)
Some years ago when I got my first snake,a baby corn,,I thought it was a piece of cake keeping reptiles.Three weeks later my snake escaped in the house. After a long search, nothing.I gave up.
I was going down into the basement to do some laundry when my daughter spotted the snake. It had been 29 days since he escaped.Cold and skinny, but no worse for the wear.
I wont give up hope just yet

:D:D:D:D She has returned !!!!!
I left the door to the crawl space open and shined a small lamp in there.I was thinking maybe she would come out to the light. My daughter took a peek in there around 9 and there she was on a pile of papers.:D:D

Glad to hear that she's home again! That's why you never give up when you lost a snake lol.

Mole king you say,,hmm, well my services don't come cheap, but I'm up for the job ;)
My king took a nice size rat last night,,hungry as every. Now I keep a 10 pound weight on her lid

Congratulations on the return of the prodigal!
My first tank of garter snakes was very secure - I thought - but one night my cats managed to open the top and abet a Great Escape. Got all of them back, but with a few scratches from their "friends".
Think they were very happy to be back, because they never tried it again (the chain and padlock probably helped)...
