    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I value you opinion on this firefly.

I would say a 5 due to amount of blushing. Here is one of mine at about 800+ grams. With blushing and color, I would give her a 6-7

6-8, I need to see a better picture to narrow it down. I really dig the pattern, I'm a fan of funky patterns. The best pictures in my opinion are taken outside, under natural light, without a flash and when the sun is completely overcast. Inside pictures can get all weirded out by different types of lighting and overexposure from bright sun or flashes can be just as detrimental if you're trying to show true colors.

Here are a couple examples of the above lighting situation. Same snakes in both pictures, a firefly and pastel siblings. They were taken on a picnic table that gets full sun but we had plenty of cloud cover so the light was very muted. In the first picture they're around 500g and in the second picture they are both right at the 1000g mark.

Agreed - A shot that gives a full body/pattern view would be great - if that pic was posted in an ad, it would catch my interest...not enough to buy, though, even if it was a great price. Depending on the day, it might be enough to compel me to ask for better pictures - or not. This thread is a good example: I saw it the day it was posted, and had the same feelings I expressed here; but wasn't interested enough to post that the picture didn't show her well.
Whether you want to show or sell, using the right pictures is HUGE.
