In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I'm not giving in.......

Finally starting to switch over to the new cages Cory and I have been building. So far I have resisted the urge to fill them with SAND!!!

I have used sand for years and change is something I don't handle well. It's kinda like an OCD urge these past couple days. Every time I look at the cage I feel something is missing and it's just not right. I have grown to hate sand and don't miss it, it's just the "not right" felling I get.

Anyway, here's cage #1 in it's completion. I got more glass in today at work so tomorrow I can finish up the first RTB cage and 1 more dragon cage. The boss is kinda getting tired of pieces of cages all over the shop. Lmao

Now if I can just resist the need to buy some sand I'll be ok......

Just for the record...... I couldn't resist the urge to immediately take pics so I threw in a stick and a dragon. The finished cage has the basking rocks, cholla condo thingie I made and other goodies in it. It's not so empty and bland.

I guess I could just take a pic of the finished the project...... Duh!!

I need a functioning brain sometimes.

That's a Sweet looking cage. What kind of material is it? Also what is the condo thing you mentioned?

Lol, that cage looks great Mike! That is a gorgeous dragon you have in there too.

It's made out of maple melamine. Most people use the solid black melamine so of course I had to be diffrent. The cholla condo thingie is just where I took a bunch of diffrent pieces of cholla and made like a little tower house thingie out of them. I'll get more pics as soon as batteries recharge.

Nice enclosure. I wish I had the proper tools for mine when I built it so it could be as nice as yours.

Very nice, Mike! If you want a substrate that is pretty, go with tile. When i get brad to make my tanks, that's what's going in them!

Thank's Sara. Tile is what I'm leaning torwards. I want the cages to have a nice professional look to them. Now I just need to pick out some tile before I end up buying sand.

Thank's Bobby!!!

What do people use in between the tile, do they grout them, just put them close together, or maybe put a little sand instead of grout?

That looks really nice! I made a similar one (though not nearly as finished looking!) for my leos. I used tile in part of it, and really like it.

Did you find the sliding glass track locally or have to mail order? I looked at every home improvement/hardware store around and they all knew what I was asking for, but had no clue where to actually get it.

I found mine at Home Depot, but dont ask for help they dont have a clue. I found them in one of those end of the line things standing straight up in little slots. They only had white around here the black does look better in my opionion. Thats another reason I want to get rid of the sand the tracks always fill up with sand and sound horrible everytime you open it.

I was told from the people at home depot and Lowe's that they no longer carry the tracks. I had to order mine on-line.
