Hi there!
I'm trying to come up with a good substrate for my new BP cages. They are sealed wood, supposedly waterproof -BUT I am paranoid and want to protect the floors as best I can. Does anyone here use plastic shelf liners or linoleum type liners in wood cages? I was thinking of cutting the stuff to size and having extras to switch out when they get messy. I was also going to layer newspaper and aspen or coconut bark substrate over this for them to burrow in.
The guy who built the cages had a frog cage with a mini pond feature. He didn't have any problems with a wood cage, so I'm pretty sure it's well sealed. I just want to be sure I am preserving these cages as long as I can!
Are there any other things I should consider using?
