not at all...I just meant that I am not a stellar example of preparedness.
While I start out with the best of intentions, and usually get my incubator upstairs at least a week before the eggs arrive...but I don't always manage to get it plugged in til I see them. Then it goes like this:
Sees eggs.
Moves incubator to desired spot (if it isn't there already).
Plugs cords into Tstat, Tstat into outlet.
Fills bottles with warmish water, dries them, and places them in incubator.
Prepares vermiculite mixture, using warmish water (all by feel)
Double checks media temperature - usually, it is close enough for me
Moves eggs into box, separating them if possible.
Places box in incubator.
That said - I
usually do set up the incubator a couple of days before I expect the eggs. I rarely prepare egg boxes in advance...and, even if I do, I usually end up messing with them again before I put the eggs in. (I do have spare Tstats, heat tape, plugs, etc in case there is a problem
