In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Howdy,

A few more:

Book Collection:
"Chameleons - Their Care and Breeding" By Linda J. Davison
Good value at about $20. Good novice husbandry info. Lots of photos.
Try her website at: http://www.miner-all.net/chameleo.htm

"Chameleons - Nature's Hidden Jewels" 2nd Ed. By Petr Necas
Make sure you get the 2nd edition. About $60

"The Panther Chameleon: Color Variation, Natural History, Conservation and Captive Management" By Gary W. Ferguson...
If you are getting a Pnather then get this book too.

"Thoughts for Food" 3rd Ed. Edited by Ardi Abate
A great source of info on which insects to get and what to feed them.

"Understanding Reptile Parasites" By Roger J. Klingenberg D.V.M.
Especially if you get a WC chameleon. I'll know more about what you are up against as far as parasite treatments.

Some of these books can be found at:

L. Fawn,

You have me curious as to what the "L" represents .... but back to topic. The Dec '05 issue of Reptiles Magazine, due in mailbaxes any day now if you subscribe, but otherwise I'm not sure how quickly it may be on the rack in your local pet store, has the cover story on Panther Chameleons, Furcifer pardalis which may help you in your quest. Admittedly a bit more problematic than veiled chameleons, panthers are still a lot of fun, while in my view the Oustalets is the hardiest of them all. But the panther is the overwhelming color favorite, and manageable. Many websites include husbandry information, and your best bet would be to view as many resources as possible prior to succumbing ot the urge to buy.
