In my book, the defining characteristic of a good guy is not that he has a flawless record, but what he does to correct something when it DOES go wrong. With that in mind, let me fully recommend Jim as a good guy!
I bought a female bloodred corn from him two years ago at the K.C. show, and I was very specific about the animal being a proven f/t feeder (knowing how tough some bloodreds are about wanting anoles only). I was told that all of the babies for sale were, so I bought the one I liked the best.
However, when I got home, I tried for several weeks to get that baby to eat, but it would not. I tried most of the well-known tricks, but nothing happened. The snake finally got so badly emaciated, I froze it to put it out of its suffering. I emailed Jim, and asked for a refund. He gave me all of my money back, no questions asked.
Now, looking back on it, I probably could have gotten that hatchling to eat, if I had known then what I know now about scenting pinks, but that's not the point. Jim knew I was probably messing things up as a non-feeder newbie, but he sold me a snake as a proven f/t feeder, and it wasn't (probably just got mixed into the wrong baby container while packing for the show). He didn't argue with me, he didn't say "prove it!" He didn't even ask for the snake to be mailed back or pics to be posted. He just knew that the $50 was not worth having a sore customer. It was $50 well spent!
I'm going to the K.C. show next month and looking for some more breeding stock. You better believe I'll stopping at Jim's table for a long, LONG look!
