    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Before I complain (again) about packaging and shipment from yet another supplier of tortoises is there some different requirements for shipping them? Received 2 baby torts from well known supplier. Torts were shipped via Fed-ex overnight in a "if it fits it ships small size USPS box that was cute and turned inside out and then covered with brown tape (you could still see the writing through the tape). It has a single hole in the back side of the box. inside the if it fits it ships box was a second box just a tiny bit smaller that was thin like a cracker box except it was all brown. It had 4 holes sorta punched down both of the long sides. It is also taped shut. Inside that box was a single kitchen paper towel sheet and my 2 baby tortoises. That's it. In addition to the label on the top of the external box the words "live harmless reptile" in fat black pen that is barely readable. No where are the words "this side up". Am I expecting too much? I sent email to shipper saying "you use insulated reptile shipping boxes and approved containers, right?" and explained I was embarrassed to ask but had had a bad experience recently. I missed that he ignored answering me and instead used his business name in the next email to me which as I said I missed he didn't actually answer and was lulled into a sense of security by his obvious professionalism I mean he's has a website (I'm dumb). Torts arrived almost an hour late. Driver was totally unaware it was a live shipment and was all apologies. Input please.:shrug01::shrug01::shrug01:

If I read your thread right it seems that you were concerned about how your tortoise was shipped. All reptiles should be shipped in an insulated box I don't care if it is a snake Gecko iguana etc all reptiles should have an insulated box. If the critter is fine and healthy I wouldn't worry about it too much all I suggest is take pics of the box and warn other not to do business with this seller.

Yes please tell us who is this seller/business I wouldn't want to do business with them

That is bad shipping form regardless. All reptiles should be sent in an insulated box. It is required by FedEx. USPS boxes are also not allowed and don't meet even the box standard, as they are too thin and flimsy.
