    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Is your iggy free roam?

I no longer own iguanas. But out of the four iggies I had one was a free roamer, he was loose in my room. The only time I would put him in cage was so that he can get some sun outside.
 
I have to many other animals and IF I let him roam the house free there would be a major problem with the dogs , cat and an iguana wouldn't go over well . IF I could I would let him walk around where his heart desired .
 
Mine is in a large cage but is let out to hang out on occasion. She sits on top of the beardie enclosures or fish tanks. Only thing I have to be careful of is her eating my house plants, with her appetite they would be just a root in about 10 mins. Only problem I ever had letting her out was her taking a crap in one of my fish tanks once, a hyperspeed waterchange fixed that though.
 
Our 16 yr old male iggy Jake has been a free roaming iguana ever since my husband rescued him 13 years ago. Jake has his own room with a bunch of shelves and ropeladders in one corner, this is where his lights and litterbox are. We usually leave the door to his room open so he can go where ever he wants. He even gets along with the cat. Well, actually I think they have made an agreement: the cat won't play with Jake's tail and Jake won't hit the cat with his tail. Most of the time they just ignore eachother.
Having an iguana roam your house is not always fun, since they don't look where they're going and tend to knock stuff over. But I think it's good for the iguana to have that freedom and it is at times a great source of entertainment.
 
Yes,Spike is one of those expensive chickens,he has free roam of our backyard,which is approximately one acre.The only thing keeping him in the yard is an electric fence and a full food bowl.He does not bother any of our 800 turtles.

That's a great picture Andy. Do you mean an electified fence or an electric fence with a radio collar like some people use for their canines?
 
Nah,just a predator resistant strip of 230 volts at .5 amps.Enought to keep the Racoons and Opossums on the outside looking in :hehe:

He did have his tail on it the other day and it didn't seel to bother him that much.He definately has his moods.Talk nice to him and he bows his head and closes his eyes.Suprise him and you get a face full of tail.

I was just saying to someone this week that if I lived in a climate like south Florida I would keep loads of reptiles outside.
