    =====================

    I am still waiting on my developer to finish up on the Classifieds Control Panel so I can use it to encourage members into becoming paying members. Google Adsense has become a real burden on the viewing of this site, but honestly it is the ONLY source of income now that keeps it afloat. I tried offering disabling the ads being viewed by paying members, but apparently that is not enough incentive. Quite frankly, Google Adsense has dropped down to where it barely brings in enough daily to match even a single paid member per day. But it still gets the bills paid. But at what cost?

    So even without the classifieds control panel being complete, I believe I am going to have to disable those Google ads completely and likely disable some options here that have been free since going to the new platform. Like classified ad bumping, member name changes, and anything else I can use to encourage this site to be supported by the members instead of the Google Adsense ads.

    But there is risk involved. I will not pay out of pocket for very long during this last ditch experimental effort. If I find that the membership does not want to support this site with memberships, then I cannot support your being able to post your classified ads here for free. No, I am not intending to start charging for your posting ads here. I will just shut the site down and that will be it. I will be done with FaunaClassifieds. I certainly don't need this, and can live the rest of my life just fine without it. If I see that no one else really wants it to survive neither, then so be it. It goes away and you all can just go elsewhere to advertise your animals and merchandise.

    Not sure when this will take place, and I don't intend to give any further warning concerning the disabling of the Google Adsense. Just as there probably won't be any warning if I decide to close down this site. You will just come here and there will be some sort of message that the site is gone, and you have a nice day.

    I have been trying to make a go of this site for a very long time. And quite frankly, I am just tired of trying. I had hoped that enough people would be willing to help me help you all have a free outlet to offer your stuff for sale. But every year I see less and less people coming to this site, much less supporting it financially. That is fine. I tried. I retired the SerpenCo business about 14 years ago, so retiring out of this business completely is not that big if a step for me, nor will it be especially painful to do. When I was in Thailand, I did not check in here for three weeks. I didn't miss it even a little bit. So if you all want it to remain, it will be in your hands. I really don't care either way.

    =====================
    Some people have indicated that finding the method to contribute is rather difficult. And I have to admit, that it is not all that obvious. So to help, here is a thread to help as a quide. How to become a contributing member of FaunaClassifieds.

    And for the record, I will be shutting down the Google Adsense ads on January 1, 2025.

I used FC to buy several boas from my original small group I kept around 2005-2014 (I'm guessing I forgot my username ect and set up this account when I had to sell said collection). Not geared towards breeding at all, but just collected what I liked. Hypos, Harlequin, Kahl albinos were primarily what drew my attention. Well life kicked into overdrive with work, getting married, starting a business and having kiddos during that time and I made the decision to sell off my collection for financial reasons.

My daughter showed interested in reptiles recently (2021). I took her to my local reptile shop and guided her towards the boas they had. She held one and was hooked. We made an agreement that she needed to do research on natural habitat and husbandry of BCI. She did and I purchased our first boa for here for XMas 2021.

She was dubbed Pinky by my then 7 year old due to her high levels of pink as a yearling. She's a '21 RC Pastel Hypo Pos Jungle, 66% het Kahl from his DD RC/Kahl litter. Purchased directly from Richard. This was a hypoxhypo so she could potentially be super hypo, I believe.
Watching her develop over the last 2 years has be pretty cool. At a little over 2 years old she's only gotten better with time and seeing that has gotten me pretty obsessed with pastel lines.

Well my daughter had a boa, so I figured I should get myself a boa? Makes sense, right?
I picked up a '21 Hypo Motley het Kahl female. It seemed like the breeder, Maestro Exotics, mostly works with BP. I loved this ones somewhat intact pattern, even with the hypo in the mix. He was kind enough to supply pictures of the parents and both looked like quality to me. The sire had high pink speckling, a super kahl sunglow and momma was a super bold, dark Motley. I decided to pull the trigger. She's gone through quite the color change with me and might be one of my favorites to date due to that. Specifically in her dark phase she gets purples and pinks throughout.

More recent, in her darker phase. Girls got purple on her sides when she's dark like this

Anyways, from there it was on and I've been obsessed and loving keeping boas again. I'll share a few more pictures now but using a 3rd party side for photos is taking up some time.

Next I got a '22 RC Pastel Jungle. He's got some great color but very bold outlined pattern, I believe from the Jungle. His side medallions are not as washed out as some of my other pastels and he does have some speckling to him. I believe he still meets the pastel requirements but maybe he's RC line. Either way, I feel like his gonna make some killer looking albinos when I breed him back to Pinky or Lucy, who I'll add next.

Lucy a '21 RC Pastel Kahl Albino. Littermate to my daughter's boa, Pinky posted above. Richard release this girl later in 2022 so I jumped on her. Nice red saddles, her heads really starting to light up over 2 years in and she's got what looks like a nice pink airbrush down her back I just can't capture in a picture. His holdbacks are pretty wild from this litter. I hope to make some killer animals, minus the hypo between my '22 Dude, and this Female Lucy a couple years down the line. At this moment, I've decided to keep this post Kahl based

I love this girl. Like an idiot, I actually asked if a zero was missing when I saw it posted by BoaMorph. Her coloration tripped me out for not being listed as hypo. Her Laddertail is intact with a pretty bold black outline, so I believe she's not. '20 RLT het anery type 1, 66% het Kahl (GS line coral). Named Terra, short for Terracotta. Got cut off due to image count

Well my last two Kahl strain animals got cut off.

'23 male KRP Sunglow Arabesque. Produced by Jay, at Arabesque and More. This boy has a great amount of pink to him so young. I love that bold pattern too. I was impressed with the het versions he had, I never really thought of arabesque as a colorful morph until I saw those. KRP ARAB 11_2023-4 by Matthew Schueneman, on Flickr

My most recent addition; '22 Kubsch Squaretail female from KarmaKritters here on FC. I've been on a hunt for a real deal squaretail for some time. I couldn't be happier with this girl. She's 66% het albino to boot. Not confirmed Kahl, but believed to be so. This girls color is straight up amazing. Photo a day after shed, but she gets pretty dang red. I'll include a older picture. Salmon tones to her but no hypo in the mix. Love that ladder tail and interconnecting saddles down the back. Dubbed Amy Whinehouse for her eye markings

I'll got some pastels I'll share here soon and a couple VPI too. I love keeping boa constictors and seeing pictures of them so I figured I'd share for those that enjoy that too. Most of my collection is still very young. I do plan to breed some of these down the line, on a hobbyist level for my own experience/enjoyment.

Thanks,

Matt

Thank you for sharing your story and pictures of your beautiful snakes. You have quite the eye for picking out the really unique ones. Just…wow!

I appreciate all the years of selective breeding that went into getting to beautifully colored animals. Each one has so much I love about them. No jungle or hets in either of these

Sunset - GR TA x IPA with Tito line Jungle. Sibling to above. The come from Summit/EBV/Keller lineage pastel lines. She's a very active girl, recovering well from a little bout of nose rub. Her name stems from the highlights in her tail

Thanks for looking. I've got a few more I'll share another time.

I had my first litter this season. Pairing was a VPI Jungle 66% Anery 1 x VPI Harlequin Motley 50% Anery1. I missed the longshot at VPI Snow but ended up with a healthy litter of 13 babies, 1 stillborn and no slugs. Mom is doing great. The litter had it's first shed and I got all 13 to eat f/t so I could not be happier. They appear to have good color, nice long and bright tails and solid patterns. I like how some of the non jungles have those old school vpi bear rug type saddles.

The Harlequin gene is tough for me to nail down. It's been around a while but not a lot of people are still working with it. I feel like there are some long term breeders here at fauna, so maybe I could get some insight on labeling harlequin animals appropriately? I'll probably make a new thread inquiring about that but if you stumbled by this thread and have insight, please feel free to share. There are some that I feel are aberrant and not jungle that also seem to have more color/lighter overall appearance that make me wonder if they are harlequin. But then, that could happen without the gene involved.

F1 - Jungle (Poss Harelquin) Motley VPI - She will most likely be a holdback. She is a notch above in the color department, specifically that tail. and I like that she has small dots between saddles. There is a sibling JM VPI that is cleaner, but I think I prefer this one.

This girl I suspect to be a VPI Harlequin Motley. She has a similar reverse stripe down the front of her body as her dad, who is a VPI Harelquin Motley. Cool eyes and a unique tail.

I can't be much help identifying the harlequin, But wanted to congratulate you on your first litter. It never gets old, it's a wonderful experience. Also the ones you showed are beautiful.

Thanks Randall. The motleys really stand out to me in this group. The two jungles I hit are pretty cool as are the normal vpi. I'll share some of those soon, my images are too large for the site so I'll have to figure that out.
