• Responding to email notices you receive.

    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

This would have to be local, I'm near Philadelphia, PA.

I have 4 authentic Japanese koi (as in from Japan, not the local pet store) I'm willing to sell or trade for BP morphs.

2 (9") Showa bred by Toshia Sakai, imported by Russell & Kari Peters (PSKoi.com)
1 (12") Platinum Ogon (imported by Keirin Koi)
1 (12") aka bekko (imported by Keirin Koi)

Pictures are old, I can get new ones if there is interest.

Just out of curiosity, what's the value of Koi such as those?

Realistically I would take $100 ea. The koi you hear about worth thousands and thousands of dollars are full grown show winners. Koi shows are a bit like dog shows, where the koi are graded on a large number of criteria (skin quality, pattern, color, body shape, etc). Koi are always a gamble because its almost impossible to predict how they will "finish" as adults. Some koi reach there prime as babies, and then their color and pattern will fall apart. Others age like a fine wine, and get better with the years. It's a very fascinating hobby, and if you like all the ball morphs there are just as many koi variations :) Unfortunately keeping koi is a bit like keepings burms or retics... these fish get HUGE and need large ponds.

I love nishikigoi! Do you have any pictures of the Ogon? Does he have a lot of sparkle? I've been looking for a nice one.

Just scooped him up and snapped a pic. He is WHITE and really glows when the sun hits him (though they have been in an above ground pool in the basement since winter so pic was taken indoors with flash).

Awe.some. That's gotta be one of the best I've seen. The white's nice and clean and those scales look like diamonds. Lemme see if I can work something out to get over your way. Unfortunately it's a bit of a drive..
