    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I have a Johnson Controls t-stat (A419) that I have been using to regulate the temp in my primary snake room. The heat source is an oil filled electric radiator, on the 900w setting. For about a week, I have intermittently found the power strip in the "off" position. The first couple of times, I thought I had done it accidentally, but it has happened far too frequently in the past 2 days. I had planned on changing out the heater this year (or at least getting a new one for backup), as the current one has seen years of service; so I made that change today. The same thing has happened twice in the last 3 hours. I'm guessing that the problem is probably within the power strip (I knew I should have bought a new one while I was at WalMart this morning), but figured I would see if anybody else has experienced this before I started messing around with it.
 
Well, it behaved itself for the rest of the day so I didn't mess with it...I came home this morning and it was down to 70 degrees in there. I had one power strip left (that didn't look like it had been run over by a truck) so I switched that out. I ran the heater on 1500w, without a T-stat, for a few hours before I went to bed, then set it all back up again. As of the time I left for work, all was well...will see what the morning brings. If it still isn't right, I'll be in the market for another thermostat (or three).
 
It does sound like a bad strip. Of all the Johnsons I have sold and used, I have yet to have one go bad. The strips on the other hand are not so well made.
 
The switch is acting like a circuit breaker. If it shorts or overloads, it trips. Hence, the need to reset it.

Yeah i just wasnt sure if they did or not since ive never had one of mine trip like that before. I understand what you mean though. :)
 
I'm pleased to report that I have had no further problems since I changed out the powerstrip :thumbsup:
