In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Hi guys, I'm new here but have lurked on these forums for years. I'll try to provide a complete timeline below.

I finally registered to purchase a few baby southern alligator lizards offered by Julio/Julia Rodriguez from St. Louis, MO here:

Initial response below:

(05-11-2014)

The seller sent me some pics of the babies and then I sent over the paypal payment.

(05-12-2014)

The seller e-mailed me with a fedex tracking slip.

(05-13-2014)

I received the parcel but the box was all banged up. I was afraid to receive some babies that were DOA. So I had my wife film the entire box opening procedure.

To my surprise, it seems like the alligator lizards escaped while in transit from a possible mishandled worker and bad packaging. :(

Nothing on the packing stated live animals except for "fragile" written on the box. :NoNo:

I then, e-mailed the seller here:

I've also posted this whole experience to the users on the Alligator Lizards Facebook group. You can view the whole correspondence here:

The owner of the group has temporarily opened the group up to review. A lot of other users on this group have expressed their apprehension on ordering from this user as well which can be viewed on the group.

I attempted to call the seller the next day but received no answer. However, we did have a text conversation. Conversation listed below:

On the 4th of this month. The seller responded back to an e-mail I sent on the 11th of May, before the shipment of the lizards. Possibly a mistake on his/her end but seeing how he/she has to send me some missing babies due to the fedex incident, wouldn't he/she look at the e-mail name and wonder why I would ask this question again?

I of course, responded back confused.

Also, I heard no "oops, my mistake or sorry about that last e-mail" response to my reply.

(06-09-2014 today)

I e-mailed the seller again today since I did not receive a response to my text I sent on Sun.

At this point, I was already feeling a bit impatient not receiving replies on a timely manner and decided to state the urgency of this situation on informing the seller that I wanted some type of resolution before the 45 days are up to file a Paypal refund.

The seller, then responded and took this as some type of threat and accused me of scamming him/her.

At this point I submitted a Paypal refund. The seller declined and escalated the this case to a Paypal claim. At which point I'll be providing Paypal all the information compiled here to submit as evidence.

The sellers Paypal notes below claim that I am trying to scam her with the video.

Why would I knowingly try to scam a seller and go through all these great lengths for some Alligator Lizard babies and $150?

Why would I give this same seller all my personal info and shipping address if I'm trying to scam them?

I'm genuinely trying to get what I paid for an have been extremely patient about it. All I wanted was some kind of update and some pics of the eggs which I did not receive. You would think, that being a seller trying to fix this issue, you would go out of your way to make sure I was constantly updated to ensure I would receive what I paid for. That's just simple customer service!!

I hope you all avoid this seller and/or proceed with caution as I would not want anyone going through this same headache and experience that I'm going through. :crying:

Also for the record, I'm doubt the seller is willing trying to scam me and that they don't really have eggs at all.

I just think this whole situation was handled poorly by the seller and could have been handled better.

In my opinion there is no scam involved by either party. The box got crushed and lizards escaped. This is the fault of the shipper and/or FedEx. It involved the buyer in no way. That's why the seller should refund the buyer and take up their case with FedEx in the meantime.

Paypal denied my claim because "live animals are not covered" under buyer protection. I will be filing a small claims case against Julio/Julia Rodriguez ([email protected]) and will not rest until I receive what I've paid for and/or a full refund.
